DD1 goes for her follow up appointment at the docs tomorrow for her lump, I know they said they thought it was nothing serious and I know they wouldn't have left her a month before seeing her again but you can't help but worry. I've a feeling she'll be referred for tests.

Hope her appointment goes well Diane

Oh dear I hope shes OK

I noticed you'd not been on - I thought you'd fallen out with us all and found some new friends to talk to

I could have sworn I've just replied to this! Lols

I'm hoping she'll be fine, she was originally told it was nothing to worry about and to go back in 4 weeks and I'm sure that wouldn't have been the case if the doctor was at all concerned.

The laptop took me quite a while to set up and then two hours to get the wireless connection working, have no idea how I finally managed it though!

Yes thank you, have tomorrow off but got a few pieces of paperwork to do. Haven't been online much the past couple of days as work sorted me out a new laptop and I've been transferring files etc., onto it.

I hope it goes ok for you DD. My mum has been having loads of tests this year as she had a lump in her neck. She was finally told it was benign & she also has a hyatus hernia (sp?)

What a worrying time for you. I think we have a terror of the word 'lump' because we automatically fear the worst. So often though, the lump turns out to be benign tumours or cysts. Has she had any invasive tests? I would imagine that their first assessment that it was 'nothing serious' is almost always the case. I will be thinking of you tomorrow.

 Diane.

Thinking of you and your DD.

As joolz said, often the case is it's nothign serious, I've had a funny lump on my neck/shoulder for years and it really really worried me at first, is just a wierd gland/cyst thing and I think stuff like that is pretty common!

Glad to hear everything was okay with your Mum, will she have to have any treatment for the hernia?

At the moment no as the consultant is keeping an eye on the lump in her neck, she has to go & see him again in 3 months. The hernia is giving her any problems at the moment so he said to leave it unless she has any problems

Thanks Juliette, the only 'test' she's had is the examination from the doctor, it's the registrar tomorrow so we'll see what she has to say. DD1 is expecting to be referred for more tests.
