My nephew's birthday is coming up and he wants games. Board games or card games. Does anyone have any suggestions? Games that can be played with only two players would be great.
My 6 years old loves Sorry! and Uno Spin. Both of these can be played with only 2 players. The Sorry Sliders game looks fun, but we haven't played it yet.
My DS's favorite at that age was Battleship! still likes it at 11 and that is for 2 players.
Also liked Guess Who, Don't break the ice, Good old Chutes and ladders and Candyland, Yatzee, Life Jr., Jenga, Mousetrap, If it is still made Kerplunk (left over from older sibling)
I have a game-loving 6 year old, this is a great thread....To echo an earlier poster, Uno Spin is a big hit. He also likes Monopoly (the grown-up one, not junior--he is disgustingly good at it for such a little guy), Sorry Sliders is fun for all ages too--you can change the boards around so there are different ways to play it. Another game that is fun, but might be harder to find (my mom got it at a local game and puzzle store) is called Doodle Dice. It has 6 sided dice with different little squiggles on them, and you have to roll the dice and match them to sets on cards...simple idea, but quite fun. Yet another game is Labyrinth or Junior Labyrinth (the latter having a smaller board)...you manipulate small cards around the board to create pathways to get at the objects you're trying to reach. (That one is really fun, but I quite often lose. To a 6 year old. Enough said...) You might have to go to a game or specialty toy store to find that one too--I got it at a small local place.
