OT:FYI and thank you for caring

We apologize in advance for this being OT, but since we frequent the restaurant boards, and several of you have been asking, we thought it might help to put this here (we posted in community forum as well).
We have been getting emails and messages from fellow DISers wondering where we have been. It is so wonderful and amazing this community, thank you. The reason we haven't been on much the last few months is we recently had a baby boy (May 1st). He is currently in the NICU struggling to survive, but fighting the most impressive battles. We have known since January that there would be major problems and even a chance he would not survive. He is doing much better, after several surgeries and the prognosis is looking very good. Our days are spent at his bedside enjoying all he has to offer and longing for the day we get to bring him home. This obviously does not leave much time for Disney sad to say. We'd like to thank all that have written to check in with us and showed concern about our absence from the boards. We just wanted to let everyone what was going on and that we are doing well. We hope you all have a magical day and always remember faith, trust, & pixie dust will see you through even the darkest times. Thank you all again for being such great friends.

Elias is certainly living proof that Disney magic exists. The short version of the story goes like this....

We had a trip planned for January. One week before we had the ultrasound and that is when we learned of all the problems he had. At the time they were not sure if he would survive to term and if he did if he would survive at all. Only an amniocentesis would rule those possibilities out. The test was scheduled for two days after our trip. We decided to go ahead with our trip and try to relax and free our minds. While we were there I got the idea to rub water from the wishing well outside of Cinderella's Castle on DW's belly. I told her that between our faith in god and our belief in Disney Magic, this would surely help him to prevail. So far he has, with amazing resilience. Thank you all again for you showing of support. We hope you all get to experience your own Disney Magic this year!
