The Wonderland thread got me thinking: what's your favourite 'attraction' (theme park, zoo, beach, whatever....) in Canada? (We all know what our international fave is! LOL :earboy2: )

My family and I always do a summer trip to the Toronto Zoo. We love going there to see the animals. And the new splash park is great, if a little crowded. We always bring a cooler and rent a wagon. And we do the Disney "be waiitng when the gates open" thing. You get to see a lot more animals active that way and the parking is free if you arrive before the attendant!

I think our family favourite is going to Niagara Falls to the Butterfly conservatory and our pic nic lunch in Niagara on the Lake then back to the falls for a nice stroll and look at all the lights at night and dinner at one of the places there. We switch it up each visit this summer I believe it is RFC last year was Planet Hollywood.

Definitely the Cabot Trail... or maybe Niagara Falls... or maybe Algonquin Park... or the Toronto Zoo... or African Lion Safari... or....

I guess my DW is right... I can't make decisions!!

Currently I'm in love with the Lower Fort Garry National Historic Park near Winnipeg. But, I also have to get to the Assiniboine Zoo at least half a dozen times a year.

I would have to say the Toronto Zoo as we were members there for a few years and visited a few times and had a great time. We also went to Blackcreek Pioneer Village last year and had fun. We do go to Canada's Wonderland every year but it is free through work but it is fun for a theme park fix.

Niagara Falls/Niagara on the Lake would be my favorite. I want to check out Banff (Rocky Mountains) some day, maybe i will change my favorite by then :)

Niagara Falls, I love Clifton Hill and the Africian Lion Safari. :thumbsup2

We are planning on going to the Lion Safari this weekend.

Can anyone tell me how long it will take to do most activities there? 3 hours? Longer?

Should we go right at opening at 10:00 AM? Will the anmal be more active then? I think it may be busy on the long weekend, but this is the only chance we will have.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Agawa Canyon Tour (especially in the fall) in Sault Ste Marie and African Lion Safari out Cambridge way!

We always arrive at the Africian Lion Safari at 10 for opening. We take our own vehicle through, doing the monkey bypass. They have a couple great splash pads there as well. We are usually done around 4, so we do the safari again on our way out. So 6 hours or so for us!:butterfly

I love taking a trip to the Ontario Science Centre (Toronto) especially in the winter. We may get a family membership, so we can pop down for a couple of hours after school (3/4 hour drive, when there is no traffic).

Thanks for the info. I will plan on a whole day.

Favorite attractions: We like Santa's Village. It is great for little ones. The park is easy to manage and the staff are very friendly and nice. They are happy to be there.

Least fav: We didn't like Wild Water Kingdom in Brampton.

The shores of Lake Superior. The Agawa Tour is beautiful too though!

We love the Toronto Zoo. We have a membership and love going during the winter. The crowds are non- existent so the kids get to chat with the zookeepers until their hearts content. It's also amazing to see elephants playing in the snow.

Toronto Zoo, Algonquin Park. I used to love Klondike Days in Edmonton but just found out it is now "Capital Ex" and no longer has a Klondike theme :sad1: So now it is just another "fair" - won't see me there ever again :furious:

Our fav place to go/things to do are to take a picnic to one of the conservation area's - we have a yearly pass that we get every year - love to walk the trails at Crawford lake especially in the Fall!

We went Civic holiday. It was very busy but we had a great time. Enjoyed the baboons. The lions were impressive. Kids had the best time at the water park. Really fun to see the elephants swimming. We spent 6 hours there. $18 for an 8 slice pizza. Lots of picnic areas. I would recommend it. :sunny:
