OT: Family Hotel/Resort VA Beach

CAn anyone recommend a nice family hotel in VA Beach. We've never been, but looking for a change from the Jersey shore,,,,,

I've lived here for about 22 years but I haven't stayed in a hotel recently. It's pretty expensive along the ocean front in the summer but all the hotels are pretty kid and family friendly. I know the PR people here have been trying for YEARS to promote this place as a family area. Come and enjoy!

I just checked Trip Advisor and the new Westin seems like a good bet (I don't believe it's on the beach though).

That's just a couple miles from my house in our new 'Town Center'. To me it's a 'WDW' downtown. Just a wanna be NYC BUT that said, it is a very nice area and the Westin is gorgeous and yes, no place near the beach. It's about 10 miles to the bay (Chesapeake) or oceanfront as the crow flies. If you plan on seeing any other sites in the area (downtown Norfolk, Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, etc) it's a nice taking off point. Cindy
