Hi all--

I know this is off topic sort of, but I know there are people who read this board that travel a lot so I am hoping you have experience and/or opinion on E-Z Rent A Car.

I am in Atlanta for a conference for 3 days Jan 4-7. E-Z is off airport, shuttle runs every 10 minutes, and they are dirt cheap...$13 a day for a compact.

I saw them on Orbitz, but have never heard of them.

1. Reputation? Seems they have the lower end vehicles like Daewoo and Kia (not that it's a big deal, just FYI)
2. Hard sell on the insurance? Don't need that type of delay.

Otherwise I have an Alamo ressie for about 2x as much which is the cheapest I could get from all on-airport companies.

Opinions?

Personally when I am going somewhere and I am not familiar with the company I stick to the name brands. I don't want any surprises when I get there.

I feel this way as well. But they have offices in several states and aren't just a single office in ATL so I thought they might be a legitimate smaller company that others might know about.

After doing a bit more research, I think the good price isn't worth my piece of mind and knowing I can be on-airport and out of there ASAP.

I would expect a hard sell on insurance.

Also, they are NOT located close to the airport. I flew in and out of that airport for a year and rented a car weekly. They are not at the rental car location which means it's a good haul out to them. I have never even seen their shuttle! All of the rental car companies require you to shuttle and it takes about 10 mintues to get to Hertz, National etc and thier buses run continuously. Figure half an hour to get there and an extra hour on the return.
