OT - Elf names...

elves? I know what elves are.. but is there a " brand" of dolls or just something y'all do?

I believe everyone is doing something Elf on the Shelf-ish. I'm sure not everyone has that particular book and elf though. There are several different companies that offer something similar. Plus I'm sure some folks do their own thing with whatever elf/elves they can find.

It can be a lot of fun, but you definitely need to get the creative juices flowing.

Our Elf is Little Dickens. My DH put him away in a file cabinet drawer, well of course DD found him a few weeks ago. My explanation... "Can you believe Little Dickens was spying on us to report back to Santa!!!"

We have Hannah, Lexi, Abby, Nicholas, Noah, Piper, Abigail, Kimball and Simon. Hannah Lexi and Abby visited last year, but the others are new this year. We don't do Elf on the Shelf. You can check out my blog to read about ours.

Our elf, Sid, is making his first official appearance this year. Last year, Sid, Santa's elf in training, was so excited to be on the sleigh that he delivered DD's gift to our house while Santa was delivering to the neighbor. Santa didn't realize this until he arrived at Grandma's house TWO STATES AWAY! Santa wrote DD a nice note explaining about Sid's mishap.

DH thought the letter and story were ridiculous. DD & DS loved it and told everyone about how Santa's elf delivered DD's gift to the wrong house. Hook, line & sinker. It was the only gift DH was responsible for... when watching their reaction Christmas morning he didn't think my idea was too bad after all.

So, Sid will be making an appearance this year. DH will think it is silly but the kids will LOVE it.

We have a reindeer- the elf applicants we looked at made DS a bit upset.... So the reindeer reports back to Santa on our goodness levels. His name is Jing-a-ling.

Ours is Keebler.

I can totally sympathize with your son. Looking at the Elf on a Shelf I think it would have creeped me out a tad when I was a kid. We don't have an elf but if I can lay my hands on one in the next few days we are getting one to "ring in" November. I think DD needs to be reminded that Santa is watching.

DS took his naming responsibilities very seriously at age 4, when our elf first showed up, and came up with.....Frisbee.:confused3:rotfl2:

Ours is 'Maxy'. We have had the most fun with Maxy. My DD has already started asking when Maxy is supposed to come!

Our elf's name is Elliott. He will be making his second visit this year, but since DD just turned 2 it is the first time she will get into it. We will have to see what he does this year!

Alfred and his friend McGinty are in our home. They were around when I was growing up, too.:thumbsup2

Our elf visited for the first time last year. The kids agreed to Jingles. They are already waiting for him to come this year. He showed up after the tree went up last year.
