Has anyone gone to the LIVE Dora's Pirate Adventure show? It's going to be in Atlanta next month and we are planning on going. I'm wondering how long the show lasts. I haven't been able to find out anything yet on that. I called the venue and the girl said that they won't get that information until the week of the show.

Also, Beauty and the Beast will be in Atlanta in September. My dd will be 4 in August. Do you think taking a 4 year old to B & B is OK? Are there usually lots of other little ones or is it mostly adults? The ad does say that it is for all ages.

Thanks! :sunny:

Hi there
My husband just took my daughter. It started at 2pm here and around 2:45 he called during intermission and I believe it was around 3:30 that they were on their way home. He is in a meeting so I cant confirm but this is to the best of my recollection (it was only last sunday).
She is 6 almost 7 and she LOVED the show.

Thanks! I was thinking it probably wasn't too long since it's geared toward kids...

We are going with our neighbors so we'll have a 3 1/2 yo, just turned 3 yo and her big sis who's around 10. She'll probably be too cool for it, but she'll enjoy going with her little sis. :lovestruc

Hi there,
I took my DD 3.5 in January. The first half was about 30 minutes followed by a 15 minute intermission and then a second 30 minutes of the show. It was great! Very colorful and entertaining. My DD *loved* it. Have fun! :thumbsup2

I am so glad to find this thread. We are taking our dd next weekend in Providence and we were also wondering how long it was. We are looking forward to it. It sounds like it should be a very cute show.

The Dora show was very cute, especially since we had free 8th row tickets! DD danced with other kids in the aisle during intermission and was riveted during the show. It was definitely worth the trip! And we spent plenty of our own $ on souvenirs and food!

Were there any little boys there? Or mostly girls? My son is 5 and he adores Dora and Diego. The show is going to be in our town soon.

Hi! We saw this last year with my then 2yo DD...there were lots of little boys there. We have the DVD that the show is based on & it really helped my DD get excited about the show before we went. She knew most of the songs & recognized the plot line...it was a blast! I highly recommend it!

We're going to the Providence show next weekend too! :) I'm taking both my girls... DH took my older DD 3 yrs ago for the City of Lost Toys Dora in Boston when she was nearly 3 and she loved it then. It was less than 2 hours long including an intermission.

As far as B & the Beast... is it the Broadway Disney version? I took my girls last year to see it (at ages nearly 3 and newly 5) and the 5 yr old was entranced by the entire performance, but my younger DD who is always a squirmer, was not easily entertained and thankfully did end up falling asleep in my arms for most of it!

Okay. Thanks for the reply! I think I will take him to see it--just the two of us. My older sons would have a fit if I asked them to go. LOL He has that Pirate dvd so I think he will enjoy the show too. Thanks again!

I took my 4 year old son and he was bored. I dont know, he likes dora and diego but he just had no interest at all in the show.

We just saw Dora on Tuesday and with DD4 and DS2 and both had a wonderful time! Hey danced and sang and DD was so sad when it was over! I saw lots of little boys there and Diego is part of the show, too. Enjoy!

My dad bought tickets for us to go w/ our 3.5 year old. I really wasn't looking forward to it, but DH and all of us REALLY enjoyed it. To me, it was way less annoying than the cartoon. And boys will like it too, because Diego is in it a lot.

You sort of have to get beyond the fact that Boots has a human face and is TALLER than Dora, and Dora & Diego are actually adults.....they have Dora's chest strapped down pretty good!!! But beyond that, it was SO entertaining. And we were in the very front row - almost a little too close, but it allowed us to see the expressions better. The music is great. Even 2 months later we're still singing "Isa turn the wheel, turn the wheel Isa!!!"

They had some t-shirts - nothing TOO special, but a nice souvenir for her to wear later. They had a jigsaw puzzle, plush figures, little toys that spin and have light/sound. There were other things, but that's what I remember. Everything was too expensive, but that's to be expected! I'm not sure how it will be in your area, but some people got the "VIP" tickets which got them a "goodie bag" it had a poster that was signed by Dora (not really, it was just some kind of font)....a little periscope, a fridge magnet w/ a clip on it. When we went into the auditorium, they handed out little flags that they got to wave.

They have that VIP thing for our area. Those tickets are like $39 each. No thanks! LOL

Do you remember the price range for the T-shirts? I want to be sure to bring enought cash with me in case we decide to get one for DD. Little flags to wave sounds cute. I hope they do that in Atlanta.

For Beauty and the Beast, we may just pass on that. DD will be 4 (just turned) and she is a squrimer. We took her to see Curious George and she was ready to go home about half way through. That was her first movie theater experience though. We're thinking about trying again with The Wild.

Thanks for all of the responses! :thumbsup2

I'm pretty sure they were under $20 - I remember thinking they were along the same lines as anyplace else like that. If you take $30-40 cash, you'll be safe. You never know, you might see other stuff you like. :)

I think your child will do fine w/ the Dora show - it moves at a very fast pace and is so visually interesting. All of the colors are fantastic, and the music is great too. It's like watching the Pirates episode on TV, but MUCH, MUCH better!!!!
