OT: Does anyone here have type 2 diabetes?

I've bee a type 2 for about 4 years and take glucophage. I also unfortunately inherited my parent's heart disease traits and the diabetes complicates things. Any how, I found the best way to control both, other than the meds, is exercise and diet. I lost about 30 pounds in the process and feel great.
 
Ok another stupid question...

Can you use the tanning bed while on this medication? I have one in my bedroom and if I cannot use it anymore I am gonna sell it.



(I know they are bad for you, but I hate looking like Casper) NO FLAMES PLEASE!!!! I know all the bad stuff that can happen to me.
 

Let me add I only use it 3 months out fo the year...so for 9 months I look like CASPER's COUSIN!!!
 
I am curiousI hope it is not too personal What are your readings? I was told I am prediabetic but take glucophage. I watch what I eat kinda
and my readings are usually between 92 and 130. My dr is not that concerned should I be ? Thanks for any help.

Well when I took the test my fasting was 77, 1 hour was 89 and 2 hour was 158.

To tell you the truth I didn't test in between the time I had the baby and now so I have no clue as to what they were before the test.

Now that I am taking the glucophage my highest reading has been 138 but that has been one time and all my others are usually 95-104 at the 2 hour mark.

I think I could kick this by diet alone but I think the Dr. KNOWS I really want to lose weight also so he may think this might help me out. I have lost 5 lbs since Thursday but then again my stomach has been torn all to pieces too!!! I know 5 lbs in one week isn't all that healthy but I am eating 5 times a day. But nowhere near as much as I used to. This stuff REALLY curbs your appetite. I have to force myself to snack so that I don't feel light headed.
