OT - Do you guys collect anything?

I think it's off topic?! Anyway....

I've just been having a nosey on the other DIS boards (about time too, I guess... have always only had time for this DLP board lol) and came across this thread under Photography... http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1174385 - and thought, wow, these really are hard-core Disney fans/collectors lol.

So, just wondering if any of you are 'collectors' as such?

I'm not but the kids have their soft toys. DD has one big Minnie and 2 small Minnies. DS has a small Mickey and a big (medium?!) Donald Duck. Oh, and we brought the helium balloons back with us (deflated) and they're up on their walls. That's about it I think.

That is an amazing thread. Some people have huge collections. I haven't got anything like that!, but I do have some unique Disney wardrobes. I will take a photo of them tomorrow & post it.

I can't view the pictures in that other thread here at work, so I don't know how I compare to them. But IMO, I have a rather large collection, and this is how it'll be "presented" in my new place:

I collect WDCC, and have already 4 glass cabinets "budgetted" for it, with possible extension of that. I have some princesses and some mice, and the member-sculptures.
I have quite a lot of Disney coffee table books, they will find their place on bookshelves.
I have some framed art/ framed pin sets, and am doing Disney cross stirch projects; I hope i'll have anough walls for it!
Then I have some misc collectibles, figurines, watches, etc.
Oh, and my plush collection! I have one huge Minnie Mouse (it's actually a Maxi Mouse, nothin "mini" about her!), about 8 or so of the bigger plush mice and about 20+ beanie minnies and mickeys. Don't know yet what I'll do with them, but plan B is to put shelves in the "powder room" and have that as their new home.

Next to all that, some (a lot) of my "verey day" items are Mickey-themed:
- shower curtain and hooks, soap dish, tumbler, lotion dispenser, ...
- towels
- tableware + glasses
- kitchen utensils
- ...

I just collect Disney DVD's for Kyra's thats about it really, she has got a large collection of Disney plushes though.

I'm more of a Hello Kitty collecter.

I'm similar to Emma, (except I don't have the excuse of a small child. Lol. When the DVD's are released I generally get them, and people know to ask jack which Disney DVD's I don't have so each birthday/xmas my collection gets topped up.

I love the toy story bedroom, but I don;t think I'll ever go that far with collecting anything....I'm just not a collector I guess...

We've got a few Disney things... Robert's got Mickey pens and things, and we've got a few toys... We might get some of the 'classic' mickey stuff to put away for our house though!

I do have a collection of Tigger things.... Especially coffee mugs!

For us it has to be pins, fridge magnets, lots of soft toys, pens and little notepads, postcards, all of the maps, bits and bobs from the hotels, photographs and photo frames, hair clips for Mia but nothing big like in that thread... Ah and Disney DVDs - we probably have them all

I also love Hello Kitty so it's a big battle with Mia - who will have more Kitty things

I don't really collect anything. The closest we get is that we pick up a fridge magnet from days out/holidays we do.

It's nice to gaze at the fridge during cooking and go "oh yeah I forgot we went to such-and-such a place" and the memories come back. We don't have space to collect much, Disney or otherwise!

I collect Disney pins (can't wait to do some serious pin trading in the summer at Dsneyland!), plus Disney DVD's. I'd love to be able to afford to collect Disney art work if I could afford it! So far I have 4 pieces so not really a collection!!

I have never seen any CM's with there pins out to trade, am i guessing you have to ask to see them?

I collect Maleficent pins - last count 28 and I have several pieces of Maleficent ornaments and artwork.
More recently I've started collecting original Eurodisney pins. I suppose pins are the main thing really, with mine and the boys ones we have well over 200 pins.

and I also collect Staffordshire Bull Terrier ornaments.

You'll be surprised, if you are wearing a lanyard, the CM's will usually ask you.

It is mainly the CM's in the shops that wear lanyards. I traded quite a few pins with them last trip.

I collect a couple of different things, as I seem to have a reasonable collection of on-ride photos (both disney and other) and also plush toys (I usually try and get something new every time I go).

It's got more expensive recently though, as they seem to have stopped selling the on-ride photos in the cheap card frames. It's a shame - I actually prefer those after the large and bulky plastic ones that you get now.

Pins - although they are just hung on lanyards and some still in bags (I really must get more organised)

Park tickets we keep - I still have one from the first year the park opened when they were plastic like a credit card.

Tattoos - Mickey ears (like on top of the water tower in the Studios) and also "Disney" in the disney curly script.

I forgot all my bathrooms have Disney towels in and my mug tree is a selection of Disney mugs. I've other bits of kitchenalia too but always grab a mug to add to the collection.

I like to collect Tigger and Mickey Mugs and disney prints/drawings esp ones which are abit retro looking-i love disney art!!
