We took my daughter to the Disney On Ice - Princess Wishes today...LOVED IT! Just wanted to throw it out there that if this show is coming to anyone's area and they're thinking about taking their kids to it....DO IT. It was awesome! We even dressed her in her Cinderella costume...others did too...it was really great. We took my son too. He didn't get as much out of it, but it was still a great show!

Side note---the scene w/ the dragon fr. Sleeping Beauty could be a little scary...As an adult, I thought it was REALLY COOL, but I could see where a small child might be scared of that particular portion.

oooh...the dragon almost has me convinced to go (although I'm thinking my kids might be scared, which wouldn't be too good) we just got back from 100years of magic on ice in boston and it was great. really impressed with some of it. I think the princess one is in february. hmmmm.

DO IT! We have been taking the kids to shows (circus, Dis on Ice since they were babies) and this is probably one of my favorites.

The dragon really IS cool...Maleficent & Ursula make appearances too.

oooh thanks for posting this! dd's 3rd birthday is in february and the show is coming right around that time, so this is my gift to her. im very excited! thanks for the heads up on the dragon, too. i will have to talk to her about it so she knows what to expect, because she tends to overreact* to things like that and if i prep her she will hopefully be ok. any chance you can elaborate on what happens with the dragon? you can PM me if you dont want to spoil it for others, but the more details i can give her, the better it will be (IE, who makes the dragon go away, is the dragon loud or just big and scary, are there pyrotechnics or sudden loud noises, etc, that type of thing so i can say "when x, y, and z happen, the dragon will be gone and the scary part is over").

*by "overreact" i just mean that she gets really upset and is difficult to calm, and the fear can often linger and make it difficult for her to enjoy the rest of the experience. i dont mean "overreact" in a negative way, i just cant think of a better word to use ;)

No worries...I totally understand. Whenever we watch something on tv that has a dragon or something, we push it off as being 'so silly' or something like that. That usually helps us. It's pretty easy to figure out when the dragon comes. It's in-line with the movie and Maleficent says she'll take care of Prince Philip herself (enter dragon). Couple things...1) It's pretty big...big gnarly teeth. 2) Pyrotechnics on the ice (sp?)...As in the movie, Prince Philip 'slays' the dragonn and it goes away.

There are also some fireworks (mini...just a couple at the end), but they do create that 'popping' noise and during that part, the lights are up on the ice.

Hope that helps...It really is a great show. I hope she enjoys it!

I plan to take my girls the end of Feb. Does anyone know approx how long the show is? Thanks!

thanks, that does help. i have tried brushing things off as silly or something, but once she gets worked up theres no turning back. i will let her know about it ahead of time, and hopefully she will be so caught up in the show that she will be ok. she sat through the circus just fine, so she should be ok. hopefully she is outgrowing this stage. but it always helps to be prepared :)

ABSOLUTELY!!! I knew when the intermission was coming because I purchased the (cough/gag) $20 program, but it really does move right along. ENJOY!

We saw the show on 12/27, my girls loved it, even my 11 year old dd enjoyed it! I was singing to all the songs too!

Hey there fellow south Jerseyean...I found myself singing too...tried to keep it down. Didn't want people staring at me!

I went to the show in Philly today - it was great! Some girls were dressed in costumes but not too many - I think because it was raining. We even took DS7 and he liked it too, especially the dragon part.

Thanks so much for posting this. I looked it up and this will be coming near me (by near me I mean 4 1/2 hours lol). Tickets go on sale in Feb. I've marked my calendar and called my best friend (who lives 30 mins from it) to tell her we'll be there that weekend!!

Thanks for posting! We are going this weekend! :) The kids are looking forward to it.
