OT-diaper rash tip

My DD has severe poop issues to the point we are now seeing a pediatric gastrologist. When she was younger her bottom looked as if if someone literally took a meat clever to it. We tried everything to clear it up, but the only thing that would work a little was Arbon infant lotion. She was going so much that not only was she getting diaper rash, but her skin was extremely dry and she would scratch it making things worse.

HINT--yesterday the Dr. told us of a new thing to try-----bathe her with water only, blow dry her bottom. Wipe on or coat on maylox/mylanta to the bottom--blow dry again. Once this is dry put on the normal butt creams--desitin, A&D, Butt Paste--whatever you use.

The reason by this is---if you have a bad diaper it now has two barriers to go through and chances of getting through the second barrier is slim.

A pediatrician once to me to use Lotrimin cream. It is used for athletes feet.
It worked wonderfully.

I second the lotrimine but I have also been told to do the malox also, I did like the Caldesene powder it also helps keep them dry, I used to have my pediatrician call in a prescription for a stronger cream as my DD had acid issues it would burn her precious butt I felt soo bad for her

Heard of the malox after DD21 no longer needed. What worked for us (it worked fast and was a miracle). Domesboro first aid wash, (this helps heal -really fast-then try to add the malox or lotramin I recommend this to all mom's with a little girl. DD would get so bad whenever she cut a tooth she looked like if she would have scratched herself down there it would have bled. She would scream each time she pottied.

Luckily both DS's did not suffer.

Dyprotex took away any diaper rash I have ever heard of. Even Moms who were at a loss I suggested this to and they loved it!

Walgreens used to sell it. I am not sure where you can get it now. It has been so long since diapers.
