OT Computer/printing problems

I wrote a paper in Word, then Wordperfect, then I tried to change it in other formats to see if it would make a difference, but everything so far makes it such that when I send it out and even when I print out the 4 page paper I have been working rabidly on (lol) my paragraphs and sentences become mangled and not double spaced anymore.

What gives? Help!!!

Please let me know what I have to do to make it set correctly so it sends and prints in the correct format if that makes any sense. Thanks!
