Emma, random people shout at me too. They either shout at me or want to be my friend and accost me in the street and won't let me go. I swear I attract people like that. I must emit some signal that is irresistible to elderly mad folk.

It's just the High Street not the rest of the place. I live in Gillingham which isn't any better (and prehaps worse)

The high Street has potential to be decent if they got rid of all the rubbish shops and maybe the people aswell lol.

I got cornered by two Mormons in the High Street in Chatham on Saturday, really nice people they were though.

Plus we got visited by JW's on Saturday afternoon. Wonder if it's coincidence :confused3

Only because your going a day before me lol.

I could be really cheeky and make my SDD the 24th, because I'm travelling up to London to stay with my Aunt the night before, then getting the Eurostar from St Pancras :goodvibes

Anything to make these trips a day closer ;) :rotfl:

It's the rubbish shops that attract the rubbish people. You don't get those sort of people hanging around Dockside, Hempstead Valley, Maidstone or Bluewater and the standard of shops in all of those places is higher.

The problem with Chatham is that as soon as a shop shuts down you know it will be replaced by either a £1 shop, a bookies/gambling establishment or a coffee shop

A new one has opened by poundland that I saw today, selling goods at cheapo prices....perfect shop for Chatham.

I love Maidstone, its just weird that its more expensive to get there on the bus than what it is to go bluewater.

Is it really?? I'd much prefer Bluewater than Maidstone!

I remember being 14 or 15 and a whole gang of us going to Lakeside by bus...but now I drive I don't even know how much busses are anymore

Last time i went to maidstone on the bus it was over £5.50, Bluewater usually is £5.50 for the bus.

I've just bought a Christmas CD!:woohoo: It's got Judy Garland singing Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas and Bing Crosby's White Christmas. I love those old songs. Will be playing it in the car from next week. The kids love to sing along!:goodvibes

Bus fairs go up about 50p every month lol. Its becoming a rip off.

Think yourself lucky - I have to pay £480 a year for my bus travel to get to work and back. That's about £2 or so for every day I'm at work...

£2 a day for the bus is rather cheap.

For a return on the bus here its £4.50 and thats just for me to get to my mums and back.

Its going to be cheaper to get to DLP than my mums soon the way the bus fares increase round here.

I think Dockside should think itself lucky if it getsanyone there including rubbish people, we only used to use the Thorntons coffee shop when we were at uni:rotfl2:

It's only that cheap because I have to buy an annual season ticket in order to get that price.

If I don't do that, then the next one down is £160 for 3 months (about £2.50 a day or so). One journey for the 25 minute journey I make, though, is just under £4 :scared1:

It's actually cheaper to take the train, which comes to £3.80 if I don't have my railcard, or about £2.50 if I do.
