OT: ChaCha

I always seem to get QCs right in a row. One was for presentation - I used the all caps from Mapquest in my directions - so I deserved that.

Then the other one was where someone said "you better check yourself before you wreck yourself." - looking at their history that is all they were doing was giving quote after quote so I said - Don't forget to tell your friends and family to give us a try! ChaCha for now! Text back soon!
and I got a QC for accuracy. There is no accurate answer for that. UGH!!!

I think if you get a quote they want you to figure out where it's from.. your example one is lyrics from Check Yo Self by Ice Cube.

I am TG again this week also. The site locked up on me quite this past week and earlier this current week. That caused my accuracy to go down. But I still made it!!!

That's directly from a song. I would have told them the name of the song and the artist. Of course, if you weren't aware of the song, that's hard to figure out! Sorry you got a qc for it though!

I made TG too. :thumbsup2

The performance week is Sunday through Saturday. If in that performance week you have a min. of 200 searches, 95% completion rate, accuracy and something to do with zero to few QC's then for the next Thur to Thur you will be a Top Guide and you pay per query gets a nice boost?

Using 10/19 through 10/25 as an example, if you made TG then all queries from 10/30 at noon through 11/6 at 11:59 a.m. will be at the higher rate?

So your TG pay time overlaps 2 performance weeks?

And I didn't get an email today about my work so I must not have done 200 searches in the past performance week right? Thinking back on it, I'm sure I didn't because I only started 10/24 and was really really slow at it. But if I can get my searches up and my stats are good I could be in the running for TG based on this week's performance?

I guess I'm just feeling a little dissapointed right now. I've been at it a week and I just wish I knew how ChaCha felt I was doing so that if I'm doing something wrong I can fix it before it becomes a bad habit. With no QCs, which I should be happy about, and no email I'm concerned about how I'm doing.

Guess I'm a bit of a worrier. :scared:

You are correct in your assumptions...if you can hurry and do 200 this week by Saturday PM, you'll get a performance dashboard next week that will let you know how you are doing! If you were doing really bad, don't worry, they'd let you know anyway.:goodvibes Don't worry! If you do 200, you'll be making TG in no time.

Has anyone else noticed ChaCha being very slow today? I should be getting back to back queries and even after rebooting and refreshing, I am only getting queries about once every 30 seconds to 1 minute! It has seriously impacted my ability to do a high number of queries today and I've been going since 10 this morning.

Does anyone think the new 20-question monthly texting limit is causing the slow-down? :confused3

Hey everyone. I just signed on with ChaCha as a generalist and I am having problems with the website. Pages won't load and so on. Plus they have my birth month wrong and I know I put it in right but when I try to change it I get a server error. Anyone else having problems?

I think the 20 limit is causing a slow down for sure, and I think it will only get worse. This may be the begininning of the end for me.

Check your categories...I've been b2b all day.

How do you answer when someone asks "what will happen when I use up my 20 question?" I can find anything that answers that? Does it stop them from going further? I know that it will let them know, at intervals, how many texts they have left but was wondering exactly what happens when they text in that 21st question.

As an aside, my daughter walked in the house with a friend this morning that was heartbroken that she was being limited to 20 questions a month and says that her English Teacher is going to be quite upset as well! First person I know that knows about ChaCha! around here lol!

Thanks

Its only supposed to be temporary. I'd encourage them to contact ChaCha directly and send feedback in...especially the English Teacher. Not text in, but send a letter through the site.

I think its just not gonna let them text in. Or maybe it'll be an auto-answer or something. Did you see the stuff in the guideblog and the FAQ in the KB about it?

I originally failed the first test, since they had my SS#, I did not try again. Well I got an email stating I'm eligible for the Expeditor Guide. Before I clicked on the link and possibly screw up again, I decided to ask on the board... what should I do, there are so many posts, I started reading through everything and got a little overwhelmed with trying to remember everything. Are there specific items I should review??

TIA!!!

Just a couple more questions that I'm sure have already been answered in these 185 pages.

What source do you cite, and how do you answer a question that seemingly has NO answer anywhere? For instance, this weekend, someone asked me how many of a certain vehicle are made every year. Looked everywhere, even on the company's website -no info. Finally cited to a car related article that gave some general info and mentioned that production would be stopping in 2011. I hate telling people I just DON'T have the answer to something, plus I'd imagine you aren't really supposed to do that. So what do I do?

If I do screw up, and get a QC, would it be sent to my email? If I'm doing something wrong, I'd want to know about it, so I don't keep making the same mistake.

The 20 question thing is the most stupid idea I have seen yet for ChaCha.

Most of the people I see that are using ChaCha ask 20 questions per day instead of per month. A lot of people are going to go somewhere else in my opinion.

When you go back in to accept it will give you the links for what to read up on before you do the simulated test. then when you feel ready click on that link and it will send you expeditor questions, you have to do 10 i think. then you are all set.
knowledge base section has all the information you need,

The 20 question limit is a bad idea. I can tell a huge decrease in my number of questions. Hope they change that rule real soon.

If you search a substantial amount of time (for me, if I'm getting nowhere at 5 minutes or somewhere at 8 minutes) and you still can't find it, I put "I'm sorry, the annual data for that vehicle does not appear to be online, but I did find out they will be stopping production in 2011." (I didn't count characters here).

And yes, the QC emails are emailed to the address you signed up with.
