I just wanted to say thank you so much to the person who posted this! My son and I had a blast yesterday asking questions. I asked who invented toilet paper, not knowing what to expect, and got a wonderful answer!
I signed up and just completed my first 3 tests. I did not do so good on typing, but I guess it was enough to pass me! So now I am working on the study materials for the sim test!
Anyway, thanks again. This seems like a fun way to make a little extra cash!

I asked the question last night "who is Mickey Mouses' best friend" thinking it would be a toss up between Goofy, Donald & Pluto. But I was told that Minerva "Minnie" Mouse was his best friend. Minerva? I had never heard her referred to as Minerva before.

Now to quit reading all these DIS threads and actually go take the guide test!

I You can also use ChaCha's site as the citation site for questions that ask opinions or personal stuff. I had someone ask today, "Are you wearing socks right now?"

I cited ChaCha's site and told them no, then I gave a random fact about socks. It was fun!

Just as an FYI, you shouldn't be citing Chacha.com unless it's a chacha related question. The new handbook says that you should be citing a relevent site. In the example above, you could find a site with the socks fact and cite that.

Ok, question guides...I've been doing this now since Sunday...Sunday & Monday alone I made $30...now it seems I get maybe 10 questions A DAY. Just wondering if it's slow all over. I'm on in the am, most of the day(which I know is slow anyway) and at night...am I doing something wrong or are you guys not getting many questions either?

I haven't been getting many questions at all, but I haven't worked a weekend yet. It seems to go in spurts - I'll get 2 or 3 in a row, then maybe an hour before I get another one. I'm going to work on adding even more keywords to my profile.

I've made about $28 since Tuesday afternoon - my goal is $5 a day (hoping to make $500 before our trip in October as extra spending money!). I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a busy weekend!

Make sure you select your key words in your profile, you can select up to 50 words. Once I did this, I started getting a lot more questions.

Ok, so what's the diff between the keywords in the profile & the Catagories in the dashboard? LOL I'm confused.

Go to the Underground to your profile and click keywords. You select different words or phrases and questions that come in with these words or phrases will be routed to you therefore increasing the number of questions you will get.

I am sooo sad... I didn't pass the simulator test... I don't know why and they don't tell you what you did wrong just that you can't join.. and they don't let you retake -- I know 3 questions I took over 5 min on cause the search didn't give me good answers... that should be my fault.. I wanted the right answers and decent ones - anyway now I am bumed@!!! any ideas how to try again.

Could you have your hubby sign up? Then you could work it under his name. I don't know if that is ok or not, but I don't see why it would be a problem!

Interesting . . . I just got accepted as a guide and have made $.60 in the last 15 minutes. I'm suspecting weekends are probably good times to make money. So I got asked the question "where is the oldest teddy bear located?" and it completely threw me. I, of course, didn't find an answer. I did find that Steif was one of the oldest manufacturers of teddy bears, are located in Munich, Germany, and more than likely possessed one of the oldest teddy bears. Do you think that was OK?

I love ChaCha, it seems you are always learning something new (especially as a guide).
I have been getting questions pretty regular first thing in the morning and late at night. Throughout the day is VERY slow. And I agree, updating your Keywords (not Categories) gets you more questions. No one has explained to me the difference, but you sure notice once you update those Keywords!

Ok, thanks!! I just updated my keywords (I added about 30...) and the questions have been pretty steady & the majority include my keywords. It's also Friday night...and I was hoping it would pick up.

But again, thanks for the keyword tip! I had done my categories, but I guess that's not what gets you the questions. Now I'm making the BIG BUCKS! It does add up though!

Do you use the Pay me now or the direct deposit? I still haven't decided...just wondering what everyone's experience with both have been. Thanks.

I have the hardest time answering ones looking for specific people.

I had one today "who lives at THIS specific address?". I tried reverse look-up, but then it was a "paid" site. I know that property records are public, but for the county they were in, you had to have some kind of reference number to search (where I live, you can just search by address and get the info).

I also get a lot of "Where does this person work?" I finally just created an account to LinkedIn because a lot of people seem to be on there!
