Has anyone been to Hyannis, MA and used the wave pool/water park?
The website is confusing about the upcoming expansion.

Do you know if there's a kiddie area currently open? What's the "dancing water fountains"?

Thanks!

I live on the Cape and never even knew there was one... LMAO I wonder if you have to actually stay there to use it? It'd be kind of stupid staying at a hotel 20 mins from home. I always thought that place was just another hotel.
Thanks for the info- I hope you get an answer

I knew it was there but I have never stayed there.
I live in Plymouth.
I am sure that you can probably pay a fee and use the indoor water park.

Most hotels that have pools offer this. They just don't advertise it. I just found this out from my sister and also a person I work with.

Yes! We have been several times and we live in MA, about an hour and a half away so it's not too bad. Our kids are now 10 & 14. The last time we went was a year ago for dd's 9th bd and it was MLK weekend so it was busy.

The pool area is a lot of fun and even adults can enjoy it. I am not sure if they have started the renovations yet as the web site is vague so it may be best to call and ask.

When we went in January they still had the Holiday Village (or whatever they called it) set up in the outside courtyard. It was small decorated houses (size of a playhouse) set up that you could check out. They also had a bonfire and for a small fee you could purchase a bag of marshmallows and a stick and roast marshmallows. I am not sure how many were eaten, but most kids (mine included) had more fun just incinerating the marshmallows! (They still talk about that...)

We didn't do it, but I heard they had someone making balloon animals inside and they also show movies somewhere. I am not sure if that was just for the holiday weekend or if they do that every weekend. There is an on-site restaraunt (Hearth & Kettle) but we go off-site as there is a IHOP and a couple other places to eat. The mall is also nearby.

When we went in the summer they had someone playing the guitar in the courtyard and they had a sing-along around the camp fire. I like that kind of stuff. Again, not sure if they still do that.

Even without all the extras, it is still a fun place to go. How old are your children? When my dd was small we really liked the idea that it was zero-entry so she could go in and out as she pleased. I remember some sort of mushroom-looking thing that sprayed water from the top - not sure if that would be the dancing water fountains?? It has been just over a year since we have been there so I am not sure if anything has changed.

Right now we are waiting for a snow-free and obligation-free weekend so we can go again! Dd got an IOU for a trip for her bd!

There are other things to do on the Cape but it depends on what time of year you go. If you scrap book, there is an AWESOME store right in the center of town! :)

Any other questions? I highly recommend the place! :thumbsup2

We went a couple of times when my girls were younger. They are 12 and 14 now and they would not enjoy it any more, it is geared towards a younger crowd. Maybe that will change with the expansion. We found it to be very crowded and if you are just a parent watching there are not many seats. They have white plastic chairs around the outside but they get taken very quickly. The kids loved it, though.

Thanks for the responses. Our DS is almost 3.

I'm very familiar with the area since my grandparents lived in Hyannisport.

I am trying to decide between 2 nights at the Cape Codder or one night in Fitchburg, MA at CocoCay waterpark.

Any input would be great - Jen
