Ot - canary islands

Has anyone vacationed in the Canary Islands? Thinking of planning a trip there and would love to hear what others think of it. Any tips or hints?

Ive been to Gran Canaria - we stayed just outside of maspalomas (walking distance) and it was really lovely.

the sand dunes were amazing and maspalomas was nice and quiet for the evening although we could get a taxi into playa del ingles for a few pounds.

It was a while ago but DH says often that he would like to go back.

I've been to gran canaria and tenerife , both great for lazy pool days and fun nights out. Although the parts i have been are the more 'british touristy' areas - i know there are lots of nice trips for the cultural side and also fun things like waterparks / marine parks too.

Also, its nice and cheap - me and bf are having a 5 night break to Fuerteventura next month for just over £200, including flights from Scotland!
