I want to get something for Christmas for our British friends, they have 2 kids age 7 and 9, so I thought some sort of game. I wanted to do something that is "American" in nature, but still of interest to them. I came up with the Monopoly
board game, but was looking for a British version. I know it is available, but I don't think in the US. Has anyone played it? What about the world version? The DH does travel for work, and they have lived in Germany, so I thought they may enjoy this version too?
Any other ideas ?
Thanks !!

I didn't realise that monopoly was American I've always played the London one which I thought was the original. (But I do have a Disney version now too!)

I always thought London was the original too.

The kids might like the game Candyland, not sure if it's a bit young for them? I bought it from WDW for my neice (now 7) and she loves it - it's not a game we get over here much.

Hi, if you are going to buy a Monopoly game can I suggest buying a version that is 'foreign' to them.

As kids my siblings and I were lucky to have sets from South Africa, USA and Australia, thanks to relatives living abroad. We used to love the change from our British set, and made sure we used the correct monetary term, dollar, rand etc when we played :)

If I remember rightly the original Monopoly game was based on Atlantic City :goodvibes
