I need to borrow some creativity....if you've got some to spare...

My little boy is turning 6 soon. We are mostly likely going to keep things simple with a cookout at home with family. But...I would like to include something special for him (we have cookouts often). He is the youngest of all his cousins, his sister is 8. But the next closest in age is 11 and it goes up to 18 from there. I need ideas for activities/fun that takes the age range into consideration. I want to include all the kids that want to paricipate...I'm concerned about the activities being "too babyish" if you know what I mean.

Any ideas?

My son recently had an Indiana Jones themed party and we had kids of all ages attend. A few things that went over really well was a scavenger hunt and an obstical course. For Scavenger Hunt they went looking for Holy Grail, and for obstical course they had to walk over a snack pit (2X4 and bricks and rubber snacks), crawl through a cave (carboard boxes taped together in an L shape), and sh0ot some foam discs in a bucket. As you can see all based on his theme, but I bet you could do something like this. My DH and his good friend also played the part of restless natives and threw water balloons at the kids while they were doing their activites.

Pinata is always fun as well as pin the tail or nose or whatever on something. Good luck!

Pirate theme. Set up two "ships" and have a giant water balloon battle. Fun for all.
