I read this thread 2 days ago, and it was a very timely one. We'd just found that DS's cheapie arm floaties had both gotten holes in them. We're at my brother's right now, he has a pool, and DS always has either me or my brother *right there*, so it wasn't a dangerous problem, but it was a problem.
So yesterday I ran out to Target and picked him up the Speedo vest, and it is BRILLIANT. He was doing really well, after 8 days in a row in the pool with his floaties, but once he got that vest on, he could SWIM! He could get his body in a swimming position, he could move his arms...and he started kicking his legs properly. A lot of it was just the amount of time he's been in the pool, but the change especially in position + arms I know was b/c of the vest vs floaties.
It's amazing how well he is doing, so thank you for this post! (and thank you for brother sort of roughhousing (while holding tight) with DS, b/c that's what popped the floaties, LOL)
