OT - Best beaches to visit?

We are staying in the Disney Area Villas and want a nice beach to visit. We have a just over one year old son and so this will be his first real beach trip.

Does anyone know of the best beaches to visit.

We are taking a trip to Tampa for one of our days so a beach there also would be fantastic,

While you are in Tampa, you'll be less than an hour away from Clearwater Beach. It's got wonderful soft sand, shells and a pier that you could walk on that he might enjoy.

You would have to pay (I think it's a dollar or so) so walk to the end of it but you can go halfway up without paying. My kids love the pelicans on the pier.

You can go East to the atlantic coast and go to Cocoa beach, New Smyrna Beach, or Daytona Beach. A little further north is St. Augustine, but that is about 3 hours away.
