Has anyone seen this article on NBC news with some pics of the reimagined Disney characters? And I thought Tim Burton's stuff was weird...

I don't like it, but then again I never understood high fashion :)

I did see it....because of course it's Minnie....but I did NOT like it. The artist is definitely talented though!

I thought that it was bizarre. Of course, with the new villains line that Disney has out, I guess the other shouldn't surprise me too much.

(disclaimer: I think the villains line is a fun idea, but I hope it doesn't last long. I thought the Minnie/Daisy stuff was gross and weird.)

It's horrible. There's not enough pressure on girls to be super skinny these days?
Not sure WHAT Disney was thinking allowing this.

I think it's just sad. Now even beloved cartoon characters have to change their bodies for fashion rather than fashion changing for their bodies.

I saw that the other day too. What struck me were the quotes that they had about having to make the characters "realistic" and 5'11" for the fashions to look good on them. How silly. They don't look realistic. If I saw people like that walking down the street I'd think how freakishly spider like they looked. And most women are not 5'11" so I guess they are admitting thier fashions only look good on women that tall. Why they have an entire industry catering to a small percentage of the total population is beyond me. :confused3 If Miss Piggy can pull off some fashionable looks, then I think they could have tried better with Minnie. Or just use some characters that would work better to begin with, like the princesses.

Minnie is so thin that you can't even really make out the detail on the clothing. This is stupid and just highlights my big beef with the fashion industry. They'd rather design clothing for a fantasy alternate reality and not for what the average person is or the majority of the real world.
