Non-Disney question!!!

Heading to Baltimore next weekend, and planning on hitting the aquarium. Has anyone ever done the aquarium with a special needs stroller? My son (age 6) has autism, and we use the stroller at theme parks, shopping centers, etc, to give him his space and to keep him safe.

In reading the reviews of the aquarium, it seems that there are a lot of narrow walkways and turns. For that reason, strollers are generally prohibited, but are allowed, of course, for those w/ special needs.

Just wondering if using the stroller would be a benefit or a headache if the walkways, etc, are too narrow?

Anyone done the aquarium either with a child w/ autism or w/a stroller care to share their experience?

Thanks so much!!

we went two years ago. It's big so we really needed the stroller, but it was a headache. A lot of it isn't accessible so they send you around the back way and you miss some of the exhibits or have to backtrack. Then there are several narrow doorways that are not automatic and were difficult to negotiate, that would have been better with a second adult but was hard on my own. we went on a weekend in summer and it was filled to capacity with people So it was crazy crowded and difficult to get the stroller to the front of the crowds so she could see. overall it was a stressful visit for us

Thanks for the info! It does sound stressful! I'm thinking of just trying to do it without a stroller and see how it goes. We are staying at a hotel within walking distance, so if he needs a break, I could take him back to the room while everyone else continues. Thanks again!!!

It's pretty hard to maneuver, but your best bet overall is to go either first thing in the morning or later in the afternoon. Also, get your tickets online - they are timed for entrance. Buying day of on the weekend could mean a couple of hour delay before you are allowed to enter.

Thanks! We already have our tickets, and will be going first thing in the morning. Talked to my husband and he agrees that we won't use the stroller! Thanks again!!!

I realize that you probably already went butI hope you had a great time! It's an awesome place and my hometown!
