How much would you pay for someone to come to your house to baby sit 4 to 6 kids for one hour while the moms are having lunch together? Ages are 2 to 7. This will be in the St. Louis, MO, area.

Thanks!

Ages of children please that makes a real difference and if it is even plausible.

I'd say $50. It sounds like a lot of kids, but during my babysitting days, it was easier to take care of more than one child, especially after age 5. They tend to entertain themselves, and the sitter just makes sure everyone is safe, maybe help settle an argument. The younger ones are where the money is really earned.

Will the moms be at the same location or away? If they're leaving, it would be hard to get there and back within an hour.

I know when I go out I pay $10 an hour for my two children, DD6 and DS 1 1/2.

Over this summer we had a college student babysit while I trained for another position at my job. I paid her $15/hr for my 3 kids ages 18mo, almost 4 and almost 7. I kind of agree with the poster who said $50 (I'm guessing this is total??) You definitely want to make it worth the babysitters while to come over just for an hour...plus if they want to share the work with a friend they would each get $25.

HTH!

No, per child. Just kidding...yep, $50 total would make it worth it for me.

At the minimum I would offer $20 for one hour for 4-6 kids. IMO $50 would be outrageous, but if you and your friends want to pay it, I am sure the sitter wouldn't argue! :lmao: It also does depend on where you live also, as far as what people would pay. If you are in San Francisco I would pay $30 or more, $20 in a place with a reasonable cost of living.
