OT Baby Shower

I am pregnant with my 4th child. After our third we decided we were done so I gave everything away except my crib and changing table, but then we found out we were pregnant which was a big suprise.

My question to you is my mother and sister would like to have a baby shower for me. Would you let them or would you just buy the stuff yourself? Also, if you did have a shower would you rather have a diaper shower or go registar for things all over again?

Congratulations. My mother had a second shower when she was expecting me because I was born 6 and 9 years after my siblings.

I think it's okay to have a small shower with people who know your stuation (that you got rid of all your stuff). But I definitely think the shower should be for things that you need and not just diapers - asking just for diapers seems almost like asking for money.

I organized a baby shower for my sister who was having her fourth. This was an unexpected pregnancy and her fiance left her when she found out she was pregnant. We invited some family that understood the situation and wanted to help out. It was a great day and really helped my sister get started. We had a normal shower because she needed everything as like you she gave it all away after her third.

I'm pregnant with my third child and my DD's are 9 1/2!! We have nothing left because we had several miscarriages after the girls were born, and finally decided that it wasn't worth all the emotional trauma to keep trying, so we gave everything away....well, God had a different plan!! We got pregnant without really trying and this one stuck!! I am now 35 weeks along, and also 37 years old!!

So, my best girlfriend and my mom understood my situation and planned a wonderful shower for me, inviting all my close friends. I did register at Target because we knew we needed everything. I did put diapers on there to let people know what brand I liked.

We are in a better fianancial situation now than we were when the girls were born, so most of the large stuff we purchased ourselves.

I say let you mom and sister plan the shower and register for what you need (including diapers). I believe every baby deserves a celebration...whether it's your first or fifth!!

In my family we always do a celebration for second, third babies etc. Except we don't call them showers...we call them "SPRINKLES"
