OT: Baby/Parenting Books

I love anything by Dr. Sears: The Baby Book is really great. They also have The Birth Book & others.

Breastfeeding - The Breastfeeding Book by Dr. Sears
Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth - Henci Goer
Parenting - The Baby Book & The Attachment Parenting Book - Dr Sears
Mothering Mag is my FAVORITE!!!

Okay, anything Dr. Sears is good! www.askdrsears.com

GL and congratulations!!

I love the Dr. Sears books but I wouldn't rush out and buy them all. They, I think, are geared towards attachment parenting which I know not everyone does. I'd say try 1 and see if you're comfortable with it first.

I like the What to expect the first year book. I think it has the answers to the stupid questions we first time mom's have.

Congrats on your little girl! My little guy will be one in April. It goes so fast!

I swear by "On Becoming Babywise". I can't remember the author, but it's a great tool for learning how to get your baby to sleep on a schedule. Both of my babies slept through the night by 9 weeks. I have many friends who swear by it as well. There are other books in the series for when your child gets older. Good luck and enjoy every minute!

We lived by these two books:

Along in the Infant Way: Ezzo

The baby Whisperer

They are very similar in parenting style/advice so they worked well together. It seemed that when one left something out the other one picked it up! Good luck.

I would take a trip to the library and look at what they have. There are so many books out there. I would reccomend any book by Dr. Sears. I would not reccomend any book by Ezzo. I think the name of most of his books are Babywize or something of that manner. YMMV.

Sorry. I just read your responses. I wasn't trying to be rude. I just don't like the Ezzo books.:flower3:

I'm also a big fan of What to Expect the first Year and Babywise.

Here's a big tip though: Read all these books, process the information and then use what works for you and your family.

Good luck!
