Boynton Beach has grown/changed a lot in the last 5 years. There has also been a HUGE amount of foreclosures in that area, so you can probably pick up a house pretty cheap since these tend to depress the area home prices a bit. Our old house is now worth roughly 1/2 what we sold it for.
There is a large Haitian population in some areas around low income housing. The crime in these areas is very high and gang related vs surrounding areas of Palm Beach County.
You don't say if you have school aged children- Depending on where you choose to live you have either really awful schools or really great schools. So do your homework on this, because the bad schools are REALLY bad. Part of the reason we sold our house to move away, we were one street away from being in the border of the "good school".
To "me", there is too much traffic there, I prefer a slower pace.
There are lots of good restaurants, a nice mall, big box stores. The area is not lacking anything as far as things to do. It is about 15 minutes from a major airport and a nice downtown area (West Palm Beach).
