I am thinking of moving to Monroe in the next year. Although I am about 30 minutes away, I am wondering how the schools are there? I do see that the testing scores are great, very similiar to my town now.
Also, any neighborhoods to stay away from? We have driven up that way and everything looks nice and upkept.
The larger lot sizes and country atmosphere are appealing to me.
Thanks if anyone has info:)

I don't live in Monroe but I lived in Trumbull until 2000 when I got married.

My sisters street, well the dead end off of hers is in Monroe but you have to go thru Trumbull to get to it.

I don't think there are any seedy areas in Monroe. Stephney (sp) may be the older area & I am thinking up 25 by a grocery store, ice cream shop (if it is still there), bank, etc... a shopping plaza, there is a road that takes you to Fairfield via Easton (the road GE is on I think) & maybe north of that road & west of 25 might be older too.

Rt 25 gets a bit congested during rush hour.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if Monroe had a "bad" area. I am in Fairfield and feel that Monroe will still have good schools as well as a little more house for the money and more land. The area looks really pretty, I feel like we will be happy there.
