Need 3 rooms for extended family with a nice pool close to the aquarium. I wanted the Hilton Garden Inn after staying at the one at Sea World but it's booked. I've heard the Holiday Inn Choo Choo isn't in the nicest area and the Read House is being renovated? The Clarion looks nice? I would be grateful for any suggestions! Thanks!

The Marriott is the most expensive at $139, and I'm not sure about an indoor pool? (The most important part to two noisy little boys) Have you stayed there?

It's so hard to make travel decisions for others, ugh!

Thanks for your help!!!!

I have stayed at the Marriott, but don't recall anything about the pool. It is nice, but not the best Marriott in the world, but probably one of the nicer hotels in the area. The Read house is a little old. I just don't know anything about the Clarion.

There are LOTS of hotels over on Shallowford Road. It is not close to the Aquairium. However, Chattanooga is not a big city.

Hail from Chattanooga. Check out Courtyard by Marriott and Residence Inn. The two hotels is close as get to Imax and Aquairium. Hilton Garden Inn is building a new Hotel in the Swallowford Area this summer. Don't know when it's on open.

If planning on coming in on June 11 and 19 it's be hard to get a hotel because on Riverbend Festival 2004.

Be sure check our minor league baseball team call the Chattanooga Lookouts at Bellsouth Park. You can't miss the baseball park behind the Imax theater.

If won't more information about Chattanooga PM me.

I wish we were going to be there for the festival, but we will be there Friday the 25th. I checked out the Lookouts website and they have a home game that night. We don't have anything planned and that sounds like fun! Do you think it would be a problem getting lower level seats on the day of the game? It would be a perfect opportunity to take a 4 yr old and a 5 yr old a baseball game without it costing a fortune like a Braves Game would, especially when they might not get much out of it. Thanks so much for the idea!!!!

I think I'm going to book the Clarion. It's a 3 star, it's close (on Chestnut St) and it's only $89 a night and $8 to park.

I think we're going to have a fantastic little trip!!!! Thanks!

Be sure and take the free trolleys around town, especially to see the Chattanooga Choo Choo! The free electric trolleys are great and put a lot of stuff "within distance" of the aquarium. Be sure also to go to the Children's Museum. My girls love the area where they have different sounds and the recording studio.

Thanks for the info on the Children's museum. We had planned to go, but I'm so glad to hear it's worth it!

The Chattanooga Choo Choo? Is that the Holiday Inn Hotel? Have you stayed there. I've heard you can get it on price line for $45 a night, which sounds too good to be true. Is it in a nice area?

Thanks!!!

Lookouts game on June 25th is Tennessee Saves Night/Budweiser Fresh Beer Night. The Lower Box tickets is 8.00 for Adults and Children.

Upper Box tickets 5.00 adults and child.

Gen. Adm. 4.00 Adult
Child 2.00

You should not have a problem getting lower tickets. But every seat in the excellent staduim. Gates open at 5:30 pm. Be sure look for the concession stand in front of the gift shop as come in the gate and ask for the female concession stand manager and I come and say hi. If I can pull myself from flirt with cute guys.;)

Thanks Crazelion!

My ds turns 4 that weekend and I read about Birthdays at the game, what exactly is this?

"Special between inning Birthday celebration on the dugout with Looie and/or the Trash Monster"

Sounds perfect for ds!!!

(I just found out I may have to work and half our extended family already bailed on us, so we may be coming up just for the game/ birthday, go figure, lol!)

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Choo Choo a couple of years ago, we didnt have a problem with the location. It was kind of neat. Each section of rooms has its own swimming pool, one of which was indoor. You could even get a room in one of the trainrooms.

You can even have "dinner in the diner", like the song,

We parked our car and took bus to the aquarium, which we loved.

I have stayed at both the Courtyard and Residence Inns downtown. Both were nice and you cannot beat them for their location. Everything discussed here; Aquarium, IMAX, Creative Discovery Museum, ballpark are all within walking distance. Chattanooga is a great place to spend a weekend.
