OT: Anyone ever hear of these Florida restaurant?

We leave on July 7th to drive down to FL (Disney will be from the 13th through 18th). Before Disney, we will be staying in Boca Raton for 4 days to visit friends and family. My grandparents used to live in Tamarac, until they passed away in a car accident in October 1986. They had lived there for 16 months at the time, and we had been to visit them twice, for three weeks each time. I was 8 and 9 yeard old when we went to visit them. They also got to come with us on our first Disney vacation when I was 8.

There were some restaurants my grandparents used to take us to, which I would love to go back to. I know that Mario the Baker is still there, so we will definitely be going there. Other places they used to take us to were:

-Morrison's Cafeteria
-Swenson's
-Po Folks
-Bell Air (sp.?) which had excellent ice cream and waffles!

Does anyone know if any of these places still exist? Are they still around the Ft. Lauderdale area? I would love to find any or all of these and take my own family. Thanks!

I don't know about that area specifically, but if will help with Internet searches to find them, the Po Folks chain changed their name a few years ago to Folks (dropped the Po). Its still the same food really, they just changed the name.

I grew up in Winter Park FL and we used to eat at the Morrisons cafeteria. Just your standard cafeteria type food there. I love Po Folks. We used to have one here in VA years ago and I just loved that place. I dont remember them being in FL when I lived there ('67-'77). Sorry I cant help you with any info. as to if they still exist in the area. Have a great trip.

I did a search for Folks restaurant and Po Folks came up. But the only locations were in the Panama City area and also St. Petersburg. Not even close to where we will be! Couldn't find "Folks" by itself though.
