omg I have read several threads regarding good books and kept seeing the 'Twilight" series come up. I also read it was for young adult so being in my 40s I was a little hesitant about reading it. Well I cant put it down. Stephanie Meyers is an awesome writer. I just love the characters. I can't wait to read the whole series and see the movie next month.

*Raises Hand* I'm an addict.

I read all 4 books in less than a week. :coffee: That was nearly two months again and I haven't been able to make it past the first chapter of any book since then. I don't want any other book to ruin my Edward buzz. :worship:

me! i'm almost done with new moon. i love them! please no spoilers on here....hehe.
i cannot wait for the movie....im making DH come with me. i think the Edward they picked will be awesome for the movie!

I'm 40something and I read the series and am a fan as well...
I started reading them to keep up on what my kids' aged peers are reading ;) so I'm in the loop.
I asked my DH to take me to the movie for a date night, he's not thrilled but agreed (I think he's just a tad envious of Edward! ;) )
I would rather go with friends, unfortunately none of them are hooked, and they don't know what they're missing!

I love them as well. Team Edward in this house. :) Can't wait for the movie.

I just bought the 4 book set today after hearing rave reviews - I have not started it yet but I take is I should warning my DH I will be unavailable for a while:lmao:
He tells me he hates it when I read - I get a bit addicted - you know neglect the laundry, no cooking dinner, lock myself in the bedroom so the kids dont bother me :rotfl2:

:lovestruc Edward. Sigh.
Enough said.

Oh, I had a t-shirt made for movie opening night. It says...
Edward Cullen...
making real guys feel pathetic.

Anyone for a little eye candy?

Loved it!! When I asked for the first one, the library had a 177 person wait but happened the have Breaking Dawn in. It was great!! Reminded me of Harry Potter the way everything tied in together. Since I read the last one first, may not go back and read the rest. It was sooo good-read it in days (Hubby was TDY. Play the Wii kids, Mommy's right here on the couch)http://www.wdwinfo.com/images/smilies/rotfl.gif

My sister told me about them about a month ago. I read the first one and had to go right out and buy the other 3. Read all four of them in less than a week. :scared1: I couldn't put them down. Can't wait for the movie. popcorn::

On book #3...can't get enough and typically speaking, not a huge reader...can't wait to get through the last one..just in time for the movie!!!!:cool1:

Well, can you guys give me some input as to what age you feel these books are appropriate for? My 11 year old daughter is dying to read them, but I heard from my sister that they may be inappropriate. Last night, I told my daughter I would buy the first one and read it and let her know. Is there sexual content in the books? I read somewhere that the first one has no sexual content, but the fourth book definitely does...any input would be great. (FYI -We are pretty conservative parents!)

LOL!!! I did the same thing....I keep seeing the high school kids with these books and thought...I'm going to give it a try. Boy! I was so hooked!!

Late 30's here and loved the whole series. My DSD 16 introduced me to them over the summer and i loved them, very well written. It was impossible to put them down. Now I just need a date for the movie.

Love these books... rereading the whole series from the beginning again (just in case I missed something). I have a Harry Potter obesession..as you can tell;) . But, these books are really great. The characters are well developed. I especially love Bella. Can't wait to see the movie!

Just started the first one, and I am loving it! I'm not sure it will top Harry Potter (for me personally), but I can't wait to get back to reading it after the kids go to bed!

Uh oh, I am the same way and spent 4 days straight reading the first 2 (this was before the 3rd. was released). No cooking, cleaning, whoopie....nothing nada, thankfully I was on vacation or I would have called in sick.

I haven't read the last one yet,Breaking Dawn, but the others are really not very explicit at all. There are some parts where the characters kiss, but overall, it is pretty harmless. A good friend of mine is very conservative and homeschools her children. She began reading the books after hearing about them and now has both of her daughters,16 and 11 reading them with her.

I would say 11 may be a little too young. I did let dd14 read them and I was a little apprehensive about letting her read Breaking Dawn. She got me though when she asked me how I would like having to wait years to read it. :rolleyes1 It wasn't anything graphic, sex was implied, you knew it happened without all the detail. I figured she's seen worse on daytime TV.

Maybe you could read them (warning: If you do, I'm sure you'll be hooked;) ) and see what you think before making your decision.

I read all 4 books in under a week. Stephenie Meyer has great writting style. I don't think I've ever been drawn into a book where I couldn't put it down, not to mention a series of books. I can honestly say I am addicted and hope to see more books from her in the future.

My friend gave me Twilight to borrow and informed me that if I didn't fall head over heels for Edward there was somethign SERIOUSLY wrong with me. I started reading it and yup I fell HARD! Had that book finished in 12 hours.

I got both Eclipse and NM and had them both read in less than 48 hours. My DH and DS lived off of cereal and sandwiches those days LOL

I keep meaning to get BD, but I know that once again I will be incapacitated until it is finished so I need to make sure I have a small block of time to lock myself away.

I'm really not thrilled about the movie. I'm sure I will get flamed for this, but I DO NOT like the guy they have for Edward. Didn't like him as Cedric in HP and I just cannot bring myself to see him as Edward. If I watch it, it will be at home when it comes to DVD. I can't see spending a bunch of money to go and sneer at the screen the whole 2 hours...which I can guarantee would happen!
