It took DH and I 9 years to get pregant, and now I can't get pregnant for 6 months because I had radiation therapy for thyroid cancer. We haven't had to use birth control in 10 years, and I don't like most of the options.

So, I wondered, how have you liked NuvaRing? My SIL's sister is "the" NuvaRing girl in all of the ads, which is kind of what got me thinking to try it...TIA!

I have 2 friends who use it and love it. I know nothing about it though.

I've used it since about September. I love it. I had a hard time remembering to take the pills and I hated the patch. But this is so easy. You just put it in and three weeks later take it out for a week.

I tried to use it and it made me vomit. I swear it felt just like being pregnant and having morning sickness. I was also didn't like the way it felt to "wear" the ring for the entire month. It was actually kind of yucky to me. I bet that some people don't have those troubles though and it would be great for them. You would just have to try it out to see if you were comfortable with it. I wouldn't be surprised if your obgyn gave you the first one as a sample, so you wouldn't be out any $$$ if you didn't like it.

I've used it since June and love it as well. I haven't had any side effects that I've noticed and no problems.

I know the idea of it skeeves some people out (like my sister :confused3 )

DBF doesn't mind it too ;)

I've been using it since July and am really happy with it. The only side effect I've noticed is that it has reduced my cramps...

I LOVE IT!!! I have been using it for about a year now and would never want to give it up. My periods are so light now!!

I used it a few years ago too. I stopped only because the nuvaring completely stopped my periods and I was freaking out too much that I may be pregnant each month. (already have 3!!)
Well once I stopped and they came back full force, I decided not having the period was so nice I started using it again!

I tried it last year just because I thought it sounded easier than taking a pill everyday. The nurse told me everyone she talks to loves it. Me not so much. It came out during "activities" sorry it is the family board and then right before the 3 weeks were up it came out at some point that I'm not even sure of which could be a big risk if that happened in the middle of the month and you don't know its not there.

But like I said the nurse talks to lots of people getting BC and she said everyone liked it. I'm guessing it all depends on body type and I don't think its that terribly much to try and I'm pritty sure there are coupons on their website. Just try it out and be kinda observant.

I used it right after I had my daughter (for almost 5 yrs). I stopped it because I started noticing migraines, lower drive and lots of moodiness. Within one month of getting off of it, I was a totally different person. But it worked fine for 4 1/2 yrs before that. So I think it all depends on the person. It was wonderful not to have to worry about the taking the pill issue and I worked it where I didn't have a period every month. That was nice. I am taking YAZ right now and so far, so good. It even helps with PMS, not so many inactive pills in that last week.

Just my thoughts. I started doing my homework after I decided to switch and although I have to remember to take a pill each night, it hasn't had any of the "old pills" side effects.

Good luck!!
