I'm thinking about installing a security system, but I read online that the wireless ones ADT etc. installs are almost worthless b/c if the intruder rips off any part of the system (the keypad, or whatever), the whole system fails!
Does anybody know if this is true? I'd hate to pay ADT $37 a month for nothing!

I asked if the siren was built in to the keypad(to lead an intruder right to it), and he said it was. I talked to another (local) company that did mention putting in 'tampers' to help with this problem, but she couldn't really explain what that was all about. I'm supposed to be getting ADT installed today, but I may cancel to get a little more time to think about it and research it. I just can't decide...
But you may want to call the sales and service office and they can help you decide what you want your alarm to do and not do for that matter. I'm not sure if a tamper is additional or standard but I do know we receive alarms if a keypad is tampered with. Absolutely get all the info you can before you make the purchase. Good luck with whatever you decide!!
