OT: Airfare to Pin Event from Norfolk

I noticed also that Airtran's fares have come down some going out of Newport News. I'd rather not deal with the HRBT if I don't have to. How much is parking at ORF?

I just wanted to let everyone in Hampton Roads know that Southwest is having a great sale on airfare (including the pin event time). If you fly out of ORF, and don't come back on a Sunday the cost is only $95.00. If you come back on Sunday the cost is $122.

Hey Matt! Parking at Norfolk is $7 a day. We live in Newport News and go to Norfolk because we prefer Southwest. Flew Southwest to the Star Spangled Event and the plane we flew home on was the most comfortable I've ever flown in (seatwise). Leather with lumbar supports. A real treat for short me since my feet don't always reach the floor and that back support really helped out. Snacks are pretty good too. I like the flight times they offer better than Air Tran since Southwest has both a morning and evening flight. We usually leave at 7 AM, so have no problem on the HRBT at 5 when we pass through it. To us it's worth the drive, but we're not piling it on top of the drive from Richmond like you would be. Good luck!

Hey Matthew, the drive wasn't much further than Newport News' airport, and I really prefer Southwest after having flown them both. Southwest has direct flights out of Norfolk, while I believe that Airtran still only offers connecting flights (might be wrong on that one). Thanks for the heads up on the sale fares.

Airtran has one nonstop flight from Newport News to Orlando and one nonstop flight from Orlando to Newport News. I like the 11:00 AM departure and the 4:30 PM arrival times ... not too early and not too late.

Of course, it would be much better if Airtran still served Richmond and Southwest would start.
