This is a Public Service Announcement on a personal level.
If you, or family/friends, have a riding lawn mower please please please do not give children rides on them. Generally speaking over 10,000 children are injured each year from lawn mower accidents and some of these injuries result in either a lose of an extremity or even life.
I currently have a seven year old nephew in the hospital with a pretty severe injury to one of his feet from a riding lawn mower accident this past weekend. He is going into surgery today and hopefully he will be able to eventually walk, run and play with little or no lasting problems. His dad is having a very hard time with parental guilt right now and I hate that there is nothing that I can say or do to help him.
Don't put your child, or another child, on a piece of machinery with a blade that rotates at approx. 160 mph and risk hurting them or even worse. Those mowers are meant for one person and that person should be at least 15 yrs. old.
