we leave in 12 days and my sweet girl has her first viris....of course that is what the doc said today...today she started running a 102.7 fever, nothing else, no cough, no snot...nothing we get to urgent care and she has red dots all over her...doc said viral rash...it will go away....i think i will go crazy...dh dept. xmas party (at our house) at the end of the week then 2 days later we leave for wdw...and NOW she is sick....poor little princess.. :guilty:

If it were one of my children, I'd be pretty confident that she would be long over it by the time the party and the trip rolled around. My kids were also prone to develop a rash with any virus that caused a fever.

the truth is, it will probably be harder on you than it will be on her. You need to be able to care for your baby and prep for the party and pack for your trip. Don't forget to take care of yourself too!

wow thanks for that... :sunny: i guess i am freaking out a little and it is very hard on me...it kills me to know she feels yucky....i know she will get better soon, omg! i forgot about packing....lol

ok...now her fever is gone, been gone since the day after....but her rash turned into the hives...they say it will go away on their own! i am going nuts...my pretty little princess is covered in red spots :guilty: :guilty: i feel so bad for her.

Aww poor girl! My dd 5 always gets a pretty bad rash after having a high fever, it will go away and she will be fine!!!!! Take care (of you and DD) and have a great trip!!!!! :wizard:

Viral infections do tend to come out thru rashes/hives and high fevers. Once the fever breaks the kiddos usually feel fine. Its the mommas that are left worrying!

Im not trying to add worry and with the fever gone im sure it was viral but strep has been making the rounds thru the community here and is preceded with rash on the torso area and high fevers. The rash is flat, not bumpy and definitely nothing like hives. Its almost a blushing of the skin.

I tell you whether its your first child or your 4th like me you worry about everything all the same. So take heart and be glad she got the viral yuck 12 days before your trip and not the night before or during......there is a silver lining. :thumbsup2
I think its the sign of a good mommy who worries!

her fever went away fast but the rash has stayed a few days...they did do a strep test and it was neg. but she just looks so bad (poor thing)i guess i am freaking out because wwhen ds9 was 3 he broke out with hives ALL over and had them for 3 weeks then they went away and came back again..they treated him with steroids and all kinds of stuff, even took him to a doc in another state to check for allergies...NOTHING.....FINALLY i told a doc to try a antibiotic (not a fan unless needed) and they went away and never came back.so i am a little silly when it comes to rashes....i never slept a full night when this happened to ds...

AWW poor thing!! I hope she is feeling better soon. Just think what nice change it will be to be away from home in Disney when she feels better. Go and have a great time!

well she is looking better....6 days to go, the rash is almost gone but i will keep my fingers crossed lol
