Mom has a perm. Illiostomy.
Her stoma is short & some times she has "leaking" issues
so we will need to carry a bag of suppies with us.

So my questions/concerns are

Security at the parks I really dont want people toucing her stuff so I will pit in plastic zip lock bags-Is this ok-Do I need to warn them?

Is there a good place to change her bag in emergancy? It should be fairly clean
Should we go to first aide? or the Baby/Child places in the parks?
How big is the campanion rest rooms so I can help her.

Is there anything I am forgetting or should we take with us.

TIA

If the ziplock bags are clear, and not so full as to be able to conceal anything untoward, I can't see them having any problems with you leaving them sealed, however, I can't speak from personal experience on that one.

Here's a picture of a companion restroom from Allears.net:

As they are designed to accommodate more than one person, I don't think you'd have problems with space, but again, I can't speak from experience.

Hopefully someone a little more useful than me can fill in the gaps. I hope that helps in the meantime :thumbsup2 .

One thing you can do is stop in at First Aid in themorning when you arrive at a park. You can leave your bag with the medical supplies with them, and go to the First Aid location as needed.

We used First Aid a lot on our last visit. We don't have ostomy issues, but I have a mentally handicapped 12yo in potty training and he simply couldn't use the public facilities. The First Aid stations are manned by nurses and EMTs(at least, that's who I saw), has private bathrooms and little private treatment areas. When DS had a major mess-up we were able to take care of it without becoming a spectacle in the restroom.

i noticed a big range in how thorough bag-checkers performed their job. some barely glanced, while others were much more thorough. i don't think i carried in anything comparable to what you'll have, but i can't imagine them trying to open your zip-lock bag. in any case, i think they'd ask YOU to open it. i think they mainly "look" with a flashlight until they see the bottom of the bag--they don't usually put their hands in and touch your contents. (is this how others remember it, too?) i think you'll be fine. -dj

My husband carriers his supplies in a Ziploc bag and hasn't had any problems going through the bag check. Sometimes they look at the bag and turn it around but they don't open it, nor ask questions about it.

He keeps the supplies with him in his wheelchair pouch since he sometimes needs to change in a hurry.

He tries to use the companion bathrooms when they're available, or the First Aid station if it's close. Over the years he's also found the bathrooms that work well for him, like in he MK the bathroom near Peter Pan's Flight.

Oh, another thing that works well for him, is he carries in his Ziploc several of the waxed brown bags that you would find in the Ladies room, for disposal of the used products.
