Osborne lights

What do you think that they could do to improve osborne lights, to me it just didn't seem the same last year. Maybe they could put it somewhere else, because it didn't seem as organized. And gosh I miss that preshow, and those magic glasses.

As someone who remembers the traffic in Little Rock, we could line up all of the parade vehicles from all of the parks, add all the people, and it would be just like the early 1990's.
I honestly didn't think they were too bad last year. Our family enjoyed them, and the beginning announcement was pretty cool, since we live just down the road from Jennings Osbourne and family.

I agree. I liked it much better when it was on the residential street. It was cool to walk through everything from start to finish. Last year, it felt like it was too spread out. I couldn't find the beginning or end. I found myself kind of wondering around having a tough time focusing on the display.

Howdy, neighbor - we live around the corner! I used to be able to see his lights out my window. The other day, DD asked why there were so many "No Parking" signs in the area!

Actually, except for a couple of Christmas parties that I was late to because of the traffic, I really liked the lights and kinda miss them.

I have been to both versions of the Osborne lights, and actually thought last years wasn't too bad! I agree that residential street was better, and that the new version did lose some of it's quaintness, but I still loved it. I too would bring back the "old" Osborne lights, but I truly did enjoy the new version last year!

This thread is funny to me for I live in Little Rock Ark. (unfortunately). This started out as just a rich guy (Osborne) putting up massive amounts of Christmas lights on his mansion grounds. Peeps started to cruise this main road he is on, causing massive traffic jams. He kept adding each year. More peeps kept coming each year. Eventually home owners in his hood, sued him and won, proving that the traffic jams were causing a nuisance. So he gives them (or sells them don't know) to Disney. I am guessing Dis has just added on to what they got from Oz. (Not Ozzy Osborne) But they just look like some bored rich guy with nothing else to do went a little nuts with the Christmas lights. But its nice that peeps like them. It's nothing to make me want to go (extra) I already want to go.

The glasses were given out, if you put them on, the lights reflected either angels, or snowflakes. In a pre-show, or street lighting ceremony, they made fun with, and explained the whole osborne story. They used characters, dressed like city workers who pull the switch, and the power goes out, or something like that. It all ends with Disney Magic(somehow the crowd gets involved counting down or something) bringing snow and starting the lights. I think it brought a lot more excitement, and emotion to the whole thing.
