Osborne Lights lives?? Maybe?

This was discussed on another thread as Jackie found it while she was on the Disney website. It was also discussed on wdwmagic.com. I believe it has since disappeared and it seems it was just a glitch because the location for it on the map on the Osborne page was still streets of America and those are going away.

We can't go two weeks without a new lights thread can we.. There gone folks, I've seen the audio and power distribution equipment for sale at Disneys liquidation center.

I got a WDW resorts marketing booklet a few weeks ago. It was for the 2016 holiday season at WDW, and one of the events highlighted in the booklet was the Osbourne lights. I was surprised to see them still listed, given that the official word was that 2015 was the last year. If they aren't bringing them back, that's pretty poor to include the lights as one of the highlights of the holiday season.

From what I have heard they are not coming back. They are gone. Sadly I never got the opportunity to see them but I wish i had.

I don't think Osborne will return, not as Osborne and/or not this year.
I think it's possible/probable that Disney will enhance their other Holiday attractions. Maybe Epcot will start sooner.

The MK stuff, apart from the parties is very minimal these days, so it will definitely feel a lot less like the holiday season without the lights at DHS.

What liquidation center? Character Warehouse?

With the inclusion of the Star Wars fireworks and soon to be laser-light show, I don't see them needing this again to pull in patrons. I really loved the lights - it was one of my favorite things to see/experience at WDW. But I also get that things change. It would be great to have them back in some way at some time, but I am not expecting it.

I doubt we will ever see them at DHS again, but hopefully they will find a way to enhance the holiday lighting elsewhere. I am not at all sure where they could use this kind of display, but I cannot see that Disney missed the pull they had on guests last year. There used to be so many holiday extra's in terms of lights and celebrations that are no longer used, particularly in Epcot. With the loss of the Lights, the rest of the missing holiday touches were highlighted for me.

I miss the lights at the entrance to World Showcase at Epcot and now no more Osborne lights either, Christmas at Disney just won't be the same anymore!

This was always my favorite, hands down. I wish that Disney woudl put it back, especially since they should now know that guests are willing to visit during holidays if there is are sufficient decorations to draw them into the parks.

I got one last year for my May trip that mentioned the upcoming Star Wars weekends, which had already been canceled....they don't seem to care that they promise things they've already canceled.
