orthodontia: sticker shock

At my DD's last appointment, she asked her doc if she needed braces "no sweetie your teeth are perfect the way they are"..

Thank god after seeing these prices! But to think a kid WANTS them!

My niece just got them on- she used a broba (retainer type thing) for 3 years first, that was suppose to prevent the need for braces.HA! its almost 7K total for her teeth, with no orthadontic insurance coverage.

Hope its worth it

I had braces as a child and my son will have them. It's worth every red cent.

Went to a 2nd consultation yesterday. The treatment was a little different (he wanted to put in an expander), said it would take 18-24 months, and his quote was $500.00 less. Also, he'll take off 10% if we pay cash up front.

Decisions, decisions. We go to our 3rd and final consultation tomorrow at 7am .

I had braces as a teen, too. Everything stayed fairly well in place until I had 4 crowns done over the last 5 yrs. Still, a BIG improvement over the buckteeth and fangs I had as a child.
