We will be decorating our tree today & I'm wondering:

do you hang the garland or ribbon before or after you put all the ornaments on the tree? Thanks & Merry Christmas!

We put the lights first, the garland second, and the ornaments last. Happy decorating!!

Garland first. If ya don't, it knocks off the ornaments! :thumbsup2

I didn't know people still put garland on their trees. We haven't used any for a long time. We just do lights and ornaments.

Same Here.... Lights, then Ornaments... :goodvibes

Lights, garland, then ornaments for my husband.
But, I put on the garland, lights, then ornaments.

We do lights, ribbon, ornaments, then throw some of that fake snow at the tree (the plastic kind in a bag). Okay...that sounds really tacky, but it's not! It's not a lot of snow, just enough to look nice. It's a mess, but it's pretty.

We have ALWAYS put the garland on last! I use "pearl" garland and it is the finishing touch.

Lights, garland, ornaments. :thumbsup2

Garland--we put some on after and it wasn't easy. Better to do on a plain tree and then add the ornaments after.

Lights first, ornaments second, tinsel last. That is the approved Beans Household order. :)

so obviously the lights first..until this year I always put the garland on next to last followed by tinsel..(we use the irridescent kind)..but "Martha" was on the other day and she said always put the garland on first..and I tried it and have to admit that I didn't knock off one ornament by doing it that way..so from now on it's lights, garland, ornaments, bows, and tinsel..angel on top is always last!
