I know Pirates is down for refurb but my favourite area in DL is the New Orleans area. How much of this area is boarded up at the moment and does it detract a huge amount. I just love roaming that area and strolling through all the little nooks and crannies and if I can't do that I will be very disappointed.

Not much is impacted. You can still walk around the side streets. We just ate at Royal St Verandah today. Pirates is boarded up and a small portion of the walkway is also closed off, but that's it. Everything else is still open.
Thanks so much that puts my mind at ease.

The nooks and crannies are all still available (we just hit up Fortune Red and Pieces of Eight no problem). The wall does block the view of the Rivers of America from the entrance to French Market and makes it a little harder to maneuver to that location, but it doesn't affect anything in the back area.

But Le Bat en Rouge is no longer there ... and the building has been repainted. :(
