Orlando Water Consumption Issues

Florida didn't get hit bad in 2020 with really high hospitalizations like they are now. That was one of the strange ironies. They had a high positivity rate and large numbers in the hospitals, but not as bad as now. Also, the treatment has changed some since then. The US didn't really have any oxygen shortages that I recall last year. Maybe it's a cumulative thing, where a lot was used last year/early this year, and there just isn't more now. Also, with other countries, like India and Brazil using large supplies, it's probably creating a worldwide deficit.

Liquid oxygen is manufactured, not mined (like helium), so there’s really no such thing as a worldwide shortage. It’s highly flammable, so it’s generally made relatively close to where it’s consumed. (Like the same continent, anyway.) The deficit just comes from not being able to manufacture enough in a region to keep up with use, which is the problem India is having right now. Sounds like that may be happening here too.

I got curious and went to check the OUC service map. Their water coverage area does completely encompass the Universal properties and surrounding resort areas, including their future expansion. They might also cover the convention center. Looks like the line is things north of 528/Beachline.

That's what I meant by shortage, ie manufacturing capability and shipping issues. The current worldwide shortages of many things are not due to actual shortage of base materials, except possibly heavy metals used in electronics manufacturing but not even that really. The current shortages are mostly due to manufacturing and shipping issues related to covid and worker shortages.

Liquid Oxygen is not flammable, it's an oxidizer and allows something else to burn. It itself will not burn.
