Wife and I honeymooned on a land/sea package in June of 2001 and are doing it again this June. When we were there last time, Animal Kingdom had just opened and Disney had buses that would pick you up from Animal Kingdom and take you straight to Port Canaveral to meet the boat.

Are they still doing this, or do we need to plan to head back to the hotel (Polynesian in our case) to meet the bus?
thanx

When we were there in June of 2003, it was still in place and we used it. Works out OK if you want to get additional time at one of the parks but beware you are trading this time for time that you could be on the cruise ship. - Mike

We stayed at AKL before our cruise in January. The bus was scheduled for 12:40 and arrived on time. The cruise rep at AKL leaves at 12:00 on Friday. We didn't arrive until 12:30 and she was not there to check us in for the cruise. That meant we had to check in again at the port terminal. She called ahead and arranged for an expedited registration at the supervisor's counter. There was no line and a representative escorted us onto the ship. AKL is wonderful. BTW, they reserve standard savanah view rooms for the cruise passengers. Ask for a delux savanah view or you will be in one of the corners behind a fire escape enclosure on a lower floor. Your view will be very disappointing. We stayed there before and ordered a delux. I didn't think to ask for it specifically when I made the reservation for the cruise because they said that a block of savanah view rooms are reserved for cruise passengers. I just assumed it would be a good room. I was very disappointed in that part of the trip. I was not in a very good mood when we got to the port. However, the CM's made sure that I was as happy as could be before I stepped on board. :)

thanks. We stayed at the Poly before and are staying there again. I like being close to the TTC and the view from Ohana's is incredible. Was wondering if we're gonna have to make our way back to the hotel to catch the boat bus or do they depart from other places.

My husband and I did the Land/Sea package last October (also stayed at the beautiful Poly) and we were able to take the bus from AK to Port Canaveral. We did not have much time to see things at AK due to the time we had to leave on the bus but it was nice to have our belongings cared for the time we were there.

Could I also mention seeing you are staying at the Poly how much we enjoyed watching the MK fireworks from the Poly beach. We watched the parade from the train station and then took the quick boat ride back to the hotel in time for the fireworks. Hubby had time to get us a quick drink from our room and we sat in lounge chairs for fireworks. It was beautiful!

Wife and I saw Cinderella's Castle change colors from Ohana's one night. Gonna try and catch fireworks this year. Love that view.
