Orlando Target: June 2013

Hi from my experience with travel city direct they have always come up way cheaper then any other company! Like alot cheaper lol it's hard with the time of yr your looking at price wise, I'm dreading the yr I decide not to take my boys out of school...also I see you was looking at pop century it is a brilliant hotel! We have stayed their with our 3 boys a few times their ages at travel was 1,1,3- and then 3,3,5 and they LOVED the theming of the resort staying on site does make everything so much easier if you can afford it. We also have looked at the new art of animation and the prices are way above the value resort prices they are actually the same as a moderate or higher right now as it's only the suite prices available but some of the price lines for the rooms was seen and they was also not value resort prices and I doubt they will be for a while:sad2:

Yes, unfortuantely my dates are glued on, must be during the school break and looks like the dates I'm looking at are the cheapest.

I guess that must be were the price difference comes from due to the dates or maybe the departure location (I am Scotland or Manchester only) as TCD and Virgin are never cheaper than Thomas Cook and Thomson for example.

I did come across one price, but the only thing is that it looks like it must be paid in full on the day of booking, we'll probably be hitting the plastic anyway but just that it would probably incur some sort of interest or charges relating to the credit card charge.

But the price was from Thomas Cook booked as a Flight + Hotel (not package) at Pop Century leaving from Glasgow. The price was £350 more expensive than the best price from Thomson leaving from Manchester, but personally I don't think it would save much in the long run i.e. travel to manchester, probable hotel needed at airport and then the hassle of driving to/from airport.

I was thinking that the other addition I'd need to remember was that of Transport to Hotel whilst in Orlando, but I noticed they had a Disney Magic Express offer which is free and has transport to/from airport built in with some additions like avoiding check-in and stuff like that.

Seemed very interesting although would have to look carefully at the whole paying so far in advance etc. Obviously could wait till later and see if 1. The price would fall and 2. Means more money would have been saved away meaning less of a hit on the credit card.

Further update:-

God knows why I've not noticed or it has changed, but checked some prices for next year as a guide and WDW themselves are just as cheap as the TC offer I saw from Glasgow.

Flying from Manchester would only save around £300 or so, with fuel, hotel and the whole hassle of driving down, it'd probably not be worth it.

And it maybe even added bonus booking with WDW themselves. So they might be the one.

Update on progress:-

Booked everything, just need to pay a balance off on part of accommodation and that's us (will need to get Universal/Seaworld Tix still).

Managed to book via Disney for accommodation and tix, 6 nights at Caribbean Beach Resort (DDP included) and 8 nights at Art of Animation Booked.

Fly from Manchester.

Also got $500 disney gift card to spend so that'll get our little one Bibbiddi Bobbiddi Boutique, 2 x Pirates League (Empress + Mermaid Packages) and we also intend to do quite a few stuff such as Cindy's Royal Talbe, Aloha Dinner Show, Pirates & Pals Cruise, Tomorrowland Dessert Party.

Also hired a Ford Mustang Convertible for part of the 2nd week (when we'll be heading out of Disney a few times).

Planning is in overtime at the mo!! :D

Update:-

Booked all our ADR's with the exception of Desserts Wishes Party that isn't open for booking yet.

BBB, Pirates League (twice), Pirates & Pal's Firework Cruise, CRT and a host of other DIning booked.

Universal tickets bought, as well as sorting our essentials such as ESTA's and Insurance.

Just need to sort out Seaworld (hanging off for any deals i.e. free kid or something), and thinking what to do for departure i.e. travelling by car or train to airport and possible hotel, as well as transportation whilst in Orlando to and from Airport.

Glad you are all sorted. We got Barrhead travel with a really good deal saving £600 on the same holiday from thomas cook. May see you over there.

Always good to save a bit of money. :D

Yep, maybe see you over there, I'll be easy to spot, as you'll probably hear my 7 year old daughter telling me to grow up and stop embarrassing her!!

Update:-

Well everything is done and dusted really.

Just a bit of the hotel accommodation to pay off. Just waiting on Seaworld ticket deals, if any.

Have arranged everything else, all ADR's done with the exception of Wishes Dessert, added Dine with Shamu too, added a couple more Character Dining experiences to the original list, so all good.

Organised transfers, overnight hotel accommodation and parking at Manchester too.

:earboy2: That was already way under operation. :rotfl:

Need to stay back from shops though, continually seeing more clothes. :headache:

Need to stop now.

Everything is now paid, only the Wishes Dessert to book and Seaworld Tickets.

Well with the exception of Seaworld tickets, everything else is complete.

Managed to get the Wishes Dessert Party booked for our final night's stay which was a huge relief.

And now it's only just next month till we head off to the land of mouse!!! :)

Our Pirates and Mermaid Trip is now complete and we added a touch of a wild side to it, with a 1 night stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge on a Savannah View room. Just going to spend the majority of the day in-resort after a quick trip down to I-Drive.

Can't believe that it's only round the corner now.
