Do you think a 6 year old (60 pounds) would fit in the double classic they have? We also have a 2 year old. I doubt he would use it much, but I know he can not walk all of Disney every day. Or should I do the rental from Disney (but they are so pricey for 9 days)???

I have a similar problem. We're going first week in sept. We have a 5 year old daughter 49 lbs and a 2 yr old 30 lbs. My 5 yr old can walk but I know she'll get tired. Should I also skip Orlando Stroller Rental or should I rent from Disney?

What are you going to do in the airport to switch planes? If you rent one in Orlando do you bring a simple one to get around in the airport or just deal with walking with the two kids?

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm bringing my nephews (6 and 2). The 6 yr old will walk, but I'd like to have a place for him to sit just in case. I've seen posts by people who say their 5-6 yr old fits in the City Mini. But when I saw the City Mini at Buy Buy Baby, the seat was smaller than the Mac Volo. I'd much rather push both in one stroller than bring two singles.

We looked for strollers but last summer we bought one from Scheel's and took it to Disneyland. There is no way I'd do two singles. That doesn't work for us. It might for some but the issue was when my DH went on a ride with our older one I couldn't be left to push two single strollers. Our double jogger we bought last summer was great! Nice size seats and folded nice. However the front wheel kept shaking and made the stroller shake. I had it fix at a local bike shop. We had it for one week before Disneyland and wanted to use it at home to try it out. They fixed it and we took it on our trip. The 2nd day there it broke again. We ended up returning it and buying a sit and stand. I don't know what I'm going to do at the airport if we rent one in Orlando. Hoping to get some ideas here from others on what they've done. I know it will be nice to have a double so they have a place to rest their feet. I know my DD5 won't ride all the time but I know she'll enjoy it when she gets tired or needs a power nap.

The double strollers OSR rents have a combined max weight of 100lbs. :thumbsup2

We rented from Orlando Stroller Rentals last September for our 3 year old and 7 year old because the year before there was alot of grief over the fact that little brother got to ride and big brother was tired and hot too. So we rented the city classic double and it was so great, I can't say enough good things about renting that stroller. It was big, roomy, had storage underneath, had little pockets on the backs of the seats, the handle bar height was adjustable, it steered and pushed so smoothly, the sun shades were separate so if one child wanted to be in the blazing sun he could be. It was well worth the money and next fall we will be renting again since DS7 is a scrawny thing and should still fit just fine. It was a much better value than the WDW strollers and it appeared to be much more comfortable.

Just went in Jan, and used Orlando Stroller double city mini for DS6 (about 60lb) and DD5 (about 40lb) we could have been over by a few lbs ;) We would not have survived without this stroller! If we were going to the park for the evening only we didn't use it, but we were at the parks usually from opening until 3pm, so we had some pretty tired kiddos. They never complained about it and DS is fairly tall (had to remind him to lift his feet up, or they would drag---or get hit by the wheel ). It had great storage capacity and looked way more comfortable than the park rentals, plus it has an awesome 1 pull fold mechanism-----I would buy this for myself if I was still in need of a double stroller!!!!! Plus they drop off and pick up and it is about half the price of renting in park!!!!!:lovestruc

I may have to bring the 6 yr old to Buy Buy Baby and see how he fits. I'd rather rent the City Mini double than the Classic double. From what I've read on thre OSR website, the Classic is larger. Since we're not renting a car, not sure if I want to get it.

We rented a special needs stroller for my child back in March as ours was not in yet, and it was the best thing we ever did. Worth every penny.

I say do it...they are a wonderful company as well...:thumbsup2

We got the City Mini for our 5 1/2 year old who weighs almost 50 pounds and it was perfect for her - until her 2 year old cousin threw a fit to ride in in constantly! Finally, we switched and the 5 1/2 year old rode around in an umbrella stroller. :rotfl2:
But while it lasted the Citi Mini was great!

We rented from OSR for our trip as well and we LOVED the stroller. Our kids were 2 and 4 and probably only have a combined weight of 60lbs or so. The stroller is very comfy for them and a absolute PLEASURE to push. The only thing we didn't like is we couldn't figure out how to lock it closed and DH had a hard time folding it up once or twice.

We can't recommend the company more than "WE LOVED THEM"! The stroller was half the price of renting one in the park and we used it everywhere not just in the park. The stroller was waiting for us when we got there and they had no problem with us leaving it at bell services late on pick up day since we had a late flight and didn't charge anything extra. We will definatly be renting from them again!!!

how did you get around in the airports? anyone have to bring an umbrella stroller for that? I'm wondering how I'd get around there with a 3 and 5 yr old.

It has been a few years since I have seen the Disney strollers, but when they had the big blue hard plastic ones (do they still?), The doubles were great! and Huge! You could definitely fit a 3 yr old and a 5 yr old in. Well, unless they are pooh sized...

I also liked renting at WDW rather than taking my own. It is nice to ditch it at the gate and not take it on the bus, monorail, store in the room, etc. Then you just show your receipt and get a new one at the next park.

However, if your child will be sleeping in the stroller when you leave, that might not be the best plan...

I have not decided which to do this year with a 2 year old. We are staying at the CR, so I could walk the stroller to the hotel and I will try to take him to CR before he falls asleep. Still you never know...:confused3

We used OSR last June with a 5yo (50 lbs) and an 8yo (45 lbs). The 8yo was a little tall for it, but to sit in just for a break from walking he was comfortable enough. Actually they both sat in it for awhile during a rainy day at Epcot because I threw a poncho over it to help keep them dry and they were okay.

The only problem I had was taking it on and off the buses, it's bulky to me and you wouldn't deal with that renting a Disney stroller. Take that with a grain of salt, however, because on other threads other posters have said they had no problem whatsoever, I am pretty small, though.

Has anyone rented the Sit n Stand through OSR?

We have a 21 month old ds and 5 and 6 yo dds. I was thinking the sit n stand would be a good option for the girls to swith off when they are tired of walking.

We would also be bringing the umbrella stroller for the airport.

Thanks for any advice. This is our first Disney trip.

Yes, we brought our small umbrella stroller to reign in DD at the airport. DS did a good job walking and during the more busy parts he held on to the stroller since DH had his hands full with luggage.

I have never rented or brought a sit n stand. However I use one at home with my two kids. (4 and 2) They spend more time messing around on the standing area. I couldn't get them to stay sitting. Then they'd try to jump off when they saw something of interest to them. It may work for your children this was my experience with them at home. I do still have one that I use for my daycare kids. They love it and sometimes we squeeze two on the sitting area on our short walk to the park. Perhaps it's just my kids that don't listen well :)

To those of you who used OSR: did you get the extra insurance? Do you think it is worth it? I'm inclinded to get it only b/c if something bad is going to happen its going to happen to me!

Is the insurance really worth it...we're in the same thing. We plan for the worse. If we buy it we won't use it. If we don't buy it something is going to happen and we'll wish we did:)

I didn't buy the insurance but wished I had after I got there. I spent the entire vacation waiting for something bad to happen to the stroller. Next time I will buy the insurance just for piece of mind. It is still MUCH cheaper than Disney.
