Orlando Smackdown: Dis vs. Uni. Ch.16 Japan Hates me, Just Hates me 7-13

I have to share, since I posted it here before and Ponzi was kind enough to check for me: it is FINALLY back in stock:
http://www.germandeli.com/adedkr10.htm

Adler Edelcreme Krauter Kase. I ordered 10 of them...
l

:lmao: Cause 2 or 3 just wouldn't be enough!

Did anyone notice what else they sell on that site???

Mezzo Mix!!!
and
Toffifay!!! :cool1:

I might be placing an order.

Never was a huge fan of toffifay. But up til just now... I'd never heard of (much less tasted) mezzo mix.

No answer to this question? :confused3. I'm guessing the rum is gone? Why is it the rum's always gone?

I just assumed it was a rhetorical question.
Kinda like:
T-Man, "Where's the rum?"
Mrs T, "In the glass in your right hand... or the bottle in your left."

Hey Pkondz - guess what I had for dessert???? Yep, a wunderbar :thumbsup2 Very good, and I think they beat grits just about any day! Thanks again!

Hey! You're welcome!

Wait a sec.... they beat grits? You mean I'm coming out the loser in this deal????

Doubt anyone will be interested in this except for Nebo, but...

On April 19, Allan Arbus passed away.

I was shocked to learn that he was 95. I guess in my mind, he'll always be stuck at the same age he was 30 years ago. Even then, I'd never have guessed that he was in his sixties.

And for those of you wondering who Allan Arbus was, he played the psychiatrist Dr. Sidney Freedman on the television series MASH.

It's his line that I have quoted in my signature.

RIP Sidney/Allan, here are some quotes from him and others...

Hawkeye: Okay, moving right along now, dealer's choice, five card stud. Sidney, what's the psychiatric basis for gambling?
Dr. Sidney Freedman: Sex.
Hawkeye: Why?
Dr. Sidney Freedman: I don't know. They told me to say it. Sex is why we gamble, sex is why we drink, sex is why we give birth.
Hawkeye: Thank you, doctor.
Dr. Sidney Freedman: I'm taking a five-dollar chip. That was a house call.

Hawkeye: [after a patient starts shooting in the compound] Sidney, front and center.
Dr. Sidney Freedman: I'm not going out there without a bulletproof couch.

Dr. Sidney Freedman: Tell me, is it true God answers all prayers?
Captain Chandler: Yes. Sometimes the answer is 'No.'

Dr. Sidney Freedman: I'd like to go on talking to you, Flagg, but with your schizophrenia, I'd have to charge you double time. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've already kept Jesus waiting five minutes.

Dr. Sidney Freedman: For my next trick I will invent sibling rivalry

Cpl. Walter Eugene 'Radar' O'Reilly: Psst... psst!
Maj. Sidney Freedman: Are you calling me or do you have a leak?

Lt. Col. Henry Blake: Corporal Klinger, this is Major Freedman, divisional psychiatrist.
Cpl./Sgt. Maxwell Q. Klinger: Major sir!
[curtsies wearing a frilly pink dress]
Dr. Sidney Freedman: You got me up here to ask me about him? About that?
Lt. Col. Henry Blake: Yeah well, you see, it really wasn't my idea.
Dr. Sidney Freedman: All the way from Seoul to ask me what? Whether he needs a girdle under that? Whether his seams are straight?... OK, OK. It's all part of the war, I guess.
[picks up a clipboard and looks at Klinger]
Dr. Sidney Freedman: I have a few questions to ask you. Sit down, soldier.
Cpl./Sgt. Maxwell Q. Klinger: Yes sir!
[runs over to the chair. Freedman takes his time filling out the first part of his report]
Dr. Sidney Freedman: Now, what's your name, honey?

Dr. Sidney Freedman: Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice: pull down your pants, and slide on the ice.

:sad1:

Who dat?

I was shocked to learn that he was 95. I guess in my mind, he'll always be stuck at the same age he was 30 years ago. Even then, I'd never have guessed that he was in his sixties.

Is it possible to be stuck at the same age?

And for those of you wondering who Allan Arbus was,

::yes::

he played the psychiatrist Dr. Sidney Freedman on the television series MASH.

Ah. Dat who he is.

Just kidding. I knew who he was. I saw it on the news the other day. I thought about posting something, but figured you or Nebo would post something eventually.

It's his line that I have quoted in my signature.

Now you have me confused. Was it Dr. Sidney Freedman that said it? Or was it Allan Arbus?

RIP Sidney/Allan

I think you need to see a psychiatrist my friend. You can't seem to get his name right. Now you're calling him Sidney/Allan. I would've recommended seeing Dr. Sidney Freeman, but I heard he recently passed away. Heard he was a really good psychiatrist. Good luck finding one.

All kidding aside, I agree. RIP Allan Arbus. :littleangel:

Sorry, I lost interest about 1/4 of the way through.

After my last post, I told Ruby that he'd passed away. I asked her to guess his age and she said, "65?"

Well, since the protagonists (I have no idea if this is the proper term) of this thread are absent, I thought I would throw in this tidbit:
Hubby and I are both CM's for 35+ years. We stayed overnight for free a few times back in the day (i.e. the good old days) but no more.
But really never a full vacation.

So we were discussing vacation plans to go with the (adult) kids. I suggested Disney, like stay a few days in a hotel.
We could get a cast member discount, maybe even 50%.
His reaction: Over my dead body, basically......
So keep me posted what's new at the parks, I likely will never know in person

Not yet. They're still looking for Steven Pkondz.

Speaking of this Pkondz, please sit back and listen to my sad, woeful tale of how I have been foiled in my attempt to send you what I wanted to send, by no less than the Canandian government. :sad2:

My tale begins about one week ago. See, buzz's(you know it's bad when I'm speaking in the third person) current geographic location is Walt Disney World. After your kindness in sending out many packages of Wunderbars I wanted to do something really nice for you and your family. I hit upon the great idea of shipping you......think hard.......Zebra domes from WDW.

I pack a box for shipping them to you before we leave SC. On Tuesday early afternoon, I drive to AKL and pick up four containers of zebra domes. Now mind you, I don't care for zebra domes at all, I don't like coffee. I come back to the WL to put Tinkerbuzz down for a nap. DH is now in possession of the zebra domes as he is going to purchase dry ice and take them by the Post Office for shipment.

Apparently, not all Orlando Publix's (see the difference between Nebo type and Buzz type?) carry dry ice. Remember, DH and I are on a labor of love for you so he drives to another Publix, further away in a subsection of Orlando known as Dr. P. Phillips. What?

As he makes the dry ice purchase, he is unsure of the amount needed so he gets 11 pounds. He goes to the Post Office where they flip out over sending dry ice period. I'm sure all out of love for you, DH is now on the FBI persons of interest list.

Undaunted, DH proceeds to a UPS store, where the appropriate amount of dry ice is determined and a price is given. However, in the final call to determine routing of the package, it is determined that absolutely NO perishables may be shipped from the US to Canada as Canada will NOT accept them.

Obviously, this is because the Canadian goverment is scared of American cooties.

Here I thought I might like to visit Canada one day and stop by Winnipeg to visit my old pal Pkondz. But nope, short of being The Cliffhanger on The Price is Right, or MacGyver or Bear Grylls scaling the Rockie Mountains, that's not going to happen. I'm too scared of what Canadian detainment would be like. :sad2:

I think it would be much easier, and maybe less expensive, if you would just hop on a plane, fly to Orlando, drop by the WL and pick up the Zebra domes. You have until Saturday morning.

Otherwise, I will just have to give YOUR zebra domes to Nebo. ;)

On a serious note though, seriously, while I am here, what non-perishable item might you like from the World. A shirt....what size would you like? Just let me know as soon as you can.

One last note.....no part of the above recount is exaggerated in any way. This is a Buzz recounting, not a Nebo one. ;)

See photographic evidence below. Sadly, I think the last picture is the closest you are going to get to these zebra domes. Will licking the screen be sufficient?

OH NOOOOOO, are grits perishable???? I'm gonna be upset if Pkondz doesn't get his grits!!

I'm so sorry, buzz. Who'd a thought the Canadian Government would be so afraid of perishables? :lmao:

It's all part of the Great Mountie Conspiracy to confiscate delicious pastry treats for themselves, eh.

I was in high school (MHS, as a matter of fact.....) when M*A*S*H was airing new episodes, so I am quite familiar with and quite fond of Sidney Freedman. My favorite line is the "what's your name, honey?" mentioned above, and it still cracks me up. (Of course, much of MASH still cracks me up). That one scene tells you all you need to know about Sidney - he doesn't fall for Klinger's crap, and he's a regular guy with a (dry) sense of humor.

It's sad to be old enough to mourn these classic, classic TV characters and their actors. MASH has certainly lost their fair share - with Larry Linville (at 60) and McLean Stevenson (69) dying pretty young. At least Harry Morgan and Allan Arbus got to grow old.

As he makes the dry ice purchase, he is unsure of the amount needed so he gets 11 pounds. He goes to the Post Office where they flip out over sending dry ice period. I'm sure all out of love for you, DH is now on the FBI persons of interest list.

This also cracked me up. Who knew? And what's the Canadian version of the FBI, because he's probably on their list too.

I never had a zebra dome but after trying two things that Dis'ers rave about and not liking them (Dole Whip, yukky flavor (I thought it would be a tart pineapple fruity substance) and Mickey ice cream bars (chocolate was gummy, fake-tasting and just not appealing to me) I don't think I'll go out of my way to get one. I've only been to Boma once, and it was for breakfast.

We're trying one new thing on our trip to WDW next month - we've finally booked the Hoop-de-doo Revue. I'll "review" it when I get back.

Yes, I was interested. Pkondz, I thought of you when I saw that news about Arbus. I was saddened but instantly recovered with happy memories of the guy he portrayed on MASH. Looked him up on IMDB.com, but didn't know ANYTHING else he did as an actor. :upsidedow

Aww Buzz, FOILED indeed!!! Good plan for recovery though... but does Nebo properly appreciate the creamy jewels that are Zebra Domes???? :rotfl:
