Orlando Smackdown: Dis vs. Uni. Ch.16 Japan Hates me, Just Hates me 7-13

If you ever have to go back to online dating maybe Ponzi could help you with your picture? I'm sure he'd come up with something great. ;)

Oh, I love this idea. Let Ponzi come up with a dating site pic for Nebo (just for fun Smidgy). Let's see how cool Nebo could look.

Friday was an extra magic hour evening at Epcot,,, one of my favorite times.

I remember how much you enjoy Illuminatons. I think I'd like EMH just to wander around WS.

It was also a lunch in the basement, with an early performance of people walking around with fire sticks and trying to NOT set the person ablaze in front of them

Ya gotta figure that if you get a group of people together all holding candles that sooner or later, somebody's hair will catch on fire (Did I just hear Nebo breath a sigh of relief?) and that will be the end of the candle part of the candlelight processional.

Lunch is at 11:30,, so we are basically just killing time in Future World till then.

I can think of worse places to kill time.

Rode Soarin',, apostrophe,,,,, ah shuddup.

apostrophe what? What?

What?????

:rolleyes1:

Livin' with the land,, Apostrophe,,,gonna hurt somebody.

:rotfl:

Even rode the moronically stupid and waste of your life's time ride,, Journey into your Imagination,,, hoping that somehow,, either the ride got better,,, or our brains got more understanding,,, but again,, alas and alack,,, no such luck.

The first time we took the rugrats this was their favorite ride. 4 years later, they couldn't wait to ride it again.

Older and wiser, they saw the error of their ways.

Our hopefullness was just a figment.
And no,,, that wasn't supposed to be funny either!

I'm glad it's not just my kids who see the error of their ways.

But I think this is where Disney really pulls the wool over your eyes,,everybody knows that you can't grow actual flowers way up by there,,, they had to be plastic.

We do too grow plastic flowers!

Actually, one of the most amazing things I've seen was when we lived up in Churchill (just a little south of the arctic circle). Winter runs from September to June up there. But when it does finally warm up, the barren tundra just explodes with color. I guess the plants have evolved to do as much as possible in the short time they have.

Then we watched the Martin Short Show,,, which is pretty good,,, providing that you keep your tongeu firmly pressed against your cheek,,, as he also tries to show you pictures of plastic flowers and such in the Canada Movie Show

I've never seen it. I guess I've always thought, "I live it, why do I want to see it when I'm on vacation?"

Maybe next time.

I am pretty sure that is the Canada garden party,,, just don't tell Ricky Nelson. Well,, I guess that doesn't matter a whole heck of a lot either now, does it?

Nope. I don't get the reference to Ricky Nelson. You're gonna have to 'splain dat one.

I gotta correct this 'cause it's such a nice picture of Smidgy. Here it is.

100_2304.jpg

Yes,, had better Fillets in the past here,,, but it was still a whole heck of a bunch better than if I tried to make it on the grill

Which is kinda depressing isn't it? We should be able to BBQ up a better steak. It's BBQ for Pete's sake!

Ah well.

at 7.50 a bowl for soup,,,, yeah,, you have to be Richie Rich, to order it now.

I wonder if the DIS didn't have a part in that price. Everyone raves about Le Cellier and 'lo and behold it's a two credit restaurant. Everyone raves about the Cheddar Cheese soup and...

But, one thing you don't want to miss is/are, the Voices of Liberty at the American Pavillion. An a Capella choir group that are/is, just outstanding, really,, not kidding.

I've heard really good things about them from other TRs too.

I normally hate chills,, but I had to hold up my arm and show Diane,,,"Hey,, Look!" And she was incredulous; " Wow, you have hair on your arms,,, who knew"?

So you promptly shaved it off and glued it to your face.

Check.

Yeup,,,, everybody's a comedian.

Keep trying!

jk

We had much better seats this time though,, pretty much dead center front and back,,, and left and right.

Up and down, in and out, round and round...

I'm really, really tired.

Our main host/speaker/ celebrity for the evening is Edna Mae. Do I have that right?
Ok,,, I mean,, Whoopie Goldberg.

I'm with ya... right up to the point where I read Smidgy's rebuttal. :rotfl:

Edna Mae? Sure, that's what it was. Heck we watched it again not that long ago...

Edna Mae.

Sounds right.

and following the usual type of Disney tradition,, turned a Christian account of history into a non religeious/ethinic, holiday nightime gospel type story for all to enjoy.

I'm not sure if you're pleased or annoyed.

Oh,,, gotta look for more pics, don't I?

Interesting pics.

Whoopsy,,, how did a Morrocan belly dancer get in the Processional?
No WONDER everybody suddenly stood up and cheered in the middle of Silent Night!

(Do you see what I see?)

Belly button lint?

The scourge of belly dancers everywhere.

Again,, Smidgy likes it more than I,

I would've guessed that you liked the belly dancer more... but, okay.

And I swear,, this woman sitting next to me now, was the very first person I ever met from talkiing to people on the internet.

"Excuse me, ma'am? Have we met? Did I pick you up on the internet?"

Yeah, that would've gone over well I'm sure.

"Hi Nevo,,, well,, gotta go,, have to go get my mom from Kohl's,, but it was nice meeting you. "

And thus, ladies and gentlemen, was speed dating born.

Nebo. Trend setter.

Never saw her again.

Yup. That's pretty much how it works.

yes,, I have that effect on women. :joker:

:rotfl:

Now, I'd have to try to get by with,,,,
boy,, if Smidgy left me now,,, I'm DOOOMED!

::yes::

Better be nice to her. I'm thinking maybe flowers.

Hurry.

See? This is what happens when I don't have anything!

You're a pretty entertaining guy for having nothing.

But what was strange about this woman was that she spent most of the whole show watching Harry Potter on her I'Pad, or whatever it was. And at the end when the entire audience stood for the Hallalueja Chorus,,,, nope not her,,, she just sat there and stared straight ahead,, as if daring someone to say something.

Is there an extra cost for the processional? Or maybe she just wandered in looking for a place to sit?

The Illuminations at holiday time is really uplifting for me, and I"m not exaggerating. But I still get forlorn when
I think of what's not there anymore,,, which is
The Lights of Winter. That always was so cool to me,,, the lit up archway down the main path to World Showcase,,,with the big Epcot tree in the background.

Sounds nice and no... I don't believe the "official line."

Ok,,, we are done here again,,, menyana

Thanks for the chapter,,, menudo.

nebo was also under the impression he dated the belly dancer, too.:rotfl: I just nod my head "sure, honey" ;).

:lmao:

oh, and honey, it's ODA mae!

D'oh! Yeah, I read Edna Mae and just kept on reading.

Thank you kindly, Ponzi, for this wonderful link and your investigative skills. Actually, I subscribe to their newsletter.

Sadly, they are almost always out of stock! :confused3

No problemo. ;)

OH! and thnaks ponzie, for the wonderbars!!! I can't wait ti try it! yum!(and I did notice f r a g i l e ):lmao:

You're welcome... and that's two for two.

Nebo, you do know that the candles aren't real in the Processional right?

No? There goes that wonderful smell of burnt hair...

Ponzi-----puppy pic please!
Oh, and my wunderbars haven't come either. :hyper:

I'm working on it... been pretty busy.... as for the chokrits bars... How could I when you haven't supplied your address, hmmmm????

If you ever have to go back to online dating maybe Ponzi could help you with your picture? I'm sure he'd come up with something great. ;)

Hmmmm......

I'm guessing this was supposed to be a picture.

I fixed the link so we can all enjoy it.

And I'm glad I did. What a lovely picture of Smidgy. The scenery is nice to.

I see we had the same thought, at about the same time. It really is a nice picture.

Errrr,,,was I supposed to? Did I miss something?

You're a pretty entertaining guy for having nothing.

I agree! ::yes:: I wish we had caught the Candlelight Processional on that trip, but we ended up at the Osborne Lights and I think it was a good choice. Jackson was in awe of the lights and music, actually Garrett was too :)

I see we had the same thought, at about the same time. It really is a nice picture.

They say great minds think alike. Between you and I, I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing.

I was curious to see what the picture looked like as well. Glad I fixed it.

Just had to know the answer to the contest question... or ask real nice.

Yeah, I remember now. I had no idea on the contest question. I'm not good at remembering lines from movies, TV, etc
Is there anything we have here that you don't get? We could do like an exchange.
Has anyone ever heard of Toffifay chocolate candy? Its made by Stork and very hard to find. When I was in Switzerland it was everywhere and I love them!!!!

Voila.

Piper27-03-2013_zps7b4be490.jpg

Pretty prince(ss) puppy. Looking very regal. "My daddy carries me to the car so I don't get my paws wet."

Okay, so now I can comment more seriously on the latest chapter. Let me say that the apostrophe thing was so difficult to write! It's like my brain kept trying to auto correct my fingers!

I'm with Smidgy on the Candlelight Processional. I'm a big fan, the last time we went Neil Patrick Harris was the narrator. The funny thing was that we saw him earlier in the morning at Soarin'. I saw him and would have kept walking had he not spoken. I immediately said to DH, "It's Doogie Howser!! Yep NPH is not Barney to me from How I Met Your Mother. He remains Doogie Howser.

DS and DD1 absolutely love Journey into Imagination. We ride it several times every trip. One of their favorite parts is the fun at the end of the ride. An extra bonus for DH and I is that after riding neither one of us can get the song out of our heads so I go around singing "Imagination, Imagination, a dream can be a dream come true....." Thanks for putting it in my head Nebo! :sad2:

I will be sure to tell the kids that one of Mr. Nebo's most favorite rides is the Figment ride so when we are able to meet you and Smidgy you can ride it multiple times! ;)

I like the soup at Le Cellier as well. We don't typically get the dining plan, the kids don't eat enough to justify the cost. If we have APs, we usually get TIW. I like to go to Le Cellier and just get the soup for my meal with pretzel breadsticks. That soup is so yummy!!

I like that you called LC the basement. The other item of note to me is how close the tables are to one another. You can literally become "family" with your neighbors!

I like the Canada movie as well. That song gets stuck in my head as well...."Canada, my Canada...".

Great chapter Nebo!

Anyone remember Menudo on ABC? ;)

Beautiful puppy!!! :)

Thanks! :)

Pretty prince(ss) puppy. Looking very regal. "My daddy carries me to the car so I don't get my paws wet."

Well, yeah... 'cause I don't want muddy paw prints all over my seat!

And her name is Piper.

And I do know Toffifay. They advertise it a lot around Christmas time. If you want to try a Wunderbar, just PM me with your address.

I looked through the Nebo photo album and I couldn't decide which picture should be the one for his online dating profile.

Cool like Fonzie?

fonzwhair_zpsada48483.jpg

Well, the hair would be dishonest. Let's try this one instead.

fonznohair_zps5395fad8.jpg

Or maybe we should do even more retro, while keeping that cool vibe going.

Nah.... I think I like the normal, natural look...

Pick your fave! Nebo's imaginary love life depends on it!!!

Beautiful puppy Ponzi!

And, you've outdone yourself. I think that with the 3rd option, you may have restored the damage you've done to Smidgy in the past too!

I pick the third.

You know, just fun loving guy who likes sipping Black Velvet shirtless on the beach. :rotfl:

we had lunch at Le Cellier, but it was 2 credits because it was the Candlelight processional package. AND it came with an appetizer, because of that! (boy, I sure get sucked in by those appetizers) we were going to do the CP package Out of pocket, and do Via Napoli, but when Free dining came out, we switched.

we have eaten at LC plenty of times, and I figured after it went totally 2 credits, that would be it.

I thought the soup was WAY too salty this time. and the filet was way too "mushy". yes, it was tender, but even though I like my steak MR, I still like it to be a little "firm"

(ponzie and thumper, you 2 boys just hush now!) (oh, and mony and buzz, too)

anyway, when we checked in at the podiums, I discretely told them that ,a lthough I know the whole restaurant is dark, we would like a table that is as light as possible, I know some tables have more light than others. I explained that my husband has low vision and doesn't see in the dark.

we were about the 3rd party to check in, so out of all the parites that had reservations for 11 (or 11:30, whatever) we were the last taken.. she explained that they "lost " our card.

so I reiterated about the light. so they brounght us to one of the darkest tables, in the corner.

Now I can see that some tables have lights over them, and some don't. I say "this table is too dark, may we have one that is more lit up?" so she brings me over to another corner table. the one right next to it has a light over it, and I say "Oh! this one is just GREAT! thanks you!!"

the look on her face. ok, now I know that the 2 of us are now sitting in between 2 other 2 tops, so that there is no way to fit in a 4 top, we would be right in the middle. but, I'm sorry, how many times did I mention it? we checked in early and they could have put on right away at a table with a light.

ok, rant over. hate to mess with "the program". as a server I understand about leaving tables open that can be combined for larger groups, but, sorry. (oh, I had also put it on our reservation in the first place)

so I guess I was already annoyed. then I asked the server where the special areas were for the illuminations viewing. and he said oh, you just get in line for the processional on the left side. they save seats for you.. no, I mean for the illuminations. he had no idea what I was talking about.

but still, the meal was good, love those breads, the filet was still pretty good. just don't think we'll be back soon. not for 2 credits. for 2 credits, I'd rather be at yachtsman steak house!

I'm thinking we decided to go back to the resort to rest, but nebo didn't say that. (I'll bet he doesn't remember either!:rotfl:)
