Help! Our DD will be attending two greek life formals in a few weeks. She attends a small college near WDW. We will be in her area for about 6 hours and plan on taking her dress shopping. We aren't interested in spending an arm and a leg at a pricy boutique. We are hoping to hit a mall that has department stores like Macy's, Dillard's, Nordstrom's, etc., and some smaller chain stores. We are not interested in resale. Is there one mall in particular that you would recommend for the greatest selection without the small boutique price?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

The outlets have a lot of stores that would have dresses at reasonable prices. You could go cheap (Forever21 and Rue21) mediate pricing (NY & Co, Bebe, BCBG, White House/Black Market), even higher (Michael Kors, Kate Spade). Lots of options there!

While this doesn't specifically answer your question, I am going to offer a suggestion for consideration. My DD wore many of her HS formal dresses again for sorority formals. Best part, this option does not cost an arm or a leg :)

I did that with my prom dress. Another option is to share with other sisters. Though I know not everyone wants to and not all chapters do. But if she has other friends she can borrow from.

We did a clothes swap with just regular clothes we weren't wearing any more and it was a good way to pass along stuff you didn't want and get something new. Pretty sure we donated whatever anyone didn't want to a women's shelter or something.

Thanks so much for the suggestions. We wound up going to the Macy's at the Florida Mall. The selection was at least ten times the size of our Macy's back in Ohio, and they were running a 30% off sale. She found several dresses that she really liked.

She also asked to have a prom dress shipped down from home and indicated that she plans to trade/borrow dresses with/from her sorority sisters in the future.
